As Congress prepares to return from its summer recess and House Republicans work to increase their investigative authority, Speaker Kevin McCarthy suggested on Sunday that an impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden was becoming more likely. He called it “a natural step forward.”

McCarthy appeared on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” to discuss the latest on the investigation into Joe Biden’s son Hunter. Special counsel David Weiss is currently deciding whether to continue with the previous tax evasion charges or charge Hunter with additional crimes.

Host Maria Bartiromo asked McCarthy: “Will you bring an inquiry against President Biden this September?”

“Only because Republicans get the geordie have we found out what President Biden told us when he was running for office is not true. He said he never had any dealings with his son’s business he never even talked to him. Not only did he call into the meetings, he went to dinner and after the dinner, Biden got a new Porsche. 3.5 million transferred. As he was a sitting vice president the family created 20 shell companies. Received 16 of 17 payments from Romania while he was vice president,” McCarthy began.

“The money would flow to nine family members. He has to continue to change us. Since then we have found a movement of his administration of weaponization. We found that while the special prosecutor actually let the statute of limitations run out on Hunter Biden’s taxes. The FBI actually informed Hunter Biden and the inaugural committee prior to our ability to go and interview him. We also have a DoJ that gave, tried to give a sweetheart deal to Hunter Biden and the judge said no. If you look at all the information we have been able to gather so far, it is a natural step forward that you would have to go to an impeachment inquiry,” McCarthy added.

“So you understand what that means, that provides Congress the apex of legal power to get all of the information that they need. Remember what is laying out there right now. We have an attorney general that could apply to the American public and he is now named a special prosecutor, they have said two different things. You have Gary Shapley later today. IRS whistleblowers have come forward that Joe there are two forms of justice when it comes to America. Look at this,” McCarthy continued.

He concluded: “It looks like a culture of corruption that is been happening within the entire Biden family. You have to be able to answer that to the American public. The American public deserves an answer, who was lying, who paid, and what foreign governments we found now that we know the FBI had an informant who got to a form of at 1023 claiming that they had bribed then vice president and said we would never find the money because they went shell companies and withheld them from the IRS individuals investigating Hunter Biden.”

A Democratic lawmaker broke ranks with his party and openly claimed over the weekend he believes first son Hunter Biden is ‘clearly’ guilty of having committed crimes. Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut could not make his case, however, without taking jabs at Republicans and former President Donald Trump.

“Let me say something that you never heard a Republican member of Congress say in the four years of the Trump administration, which is that if Hunter Biden broke the law, he should be prosecuted,” Himes told MSNBC. “And it is clear that he broke the law with respect to taxes and possibly the ownership of a handgun. He should be held accountable for that.”

“If he traded on his father’s influence, he should be held accountable for that. And I’m emphasizing this because you never, ever heard a Republican say the same thing about Donald Trump or his family,” Himes continued.

Himes went on to claim that so far, no evidence has been found linking Joe Biden to his son’s crimes, which some could say is false considering Republicans have said publicly they have seen FBI documents from “highly credible” sources indicating tens of millions of allegedly illicit funds went to both men — though those allegations have not been presented in court nor have either man has been charged with any crimes.

Joe Biden has repeatedly claimed he had no information about any of his son’s business dealings.
