In what is a shameful move, even for them, many on the left have mocked the death of rock superstar Meat Loaf following his death.

It has been reported that the 74-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer, whose real name was Marvin Lee Aday, died on Friday in what has been reported by some media organizations as a bad case of COVID.

The singer was also anti-vaccine mandate and anti-mask mandate, which does not necessarily mean he was against getting the vaccine or wearing a mask, which is a distinction not being comprehended by many.

The singer, who had asthma and other health conditions, said, in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in August that he thought the lockdowns “political” and masks “useless” before offering to give reporter Scott Mervins an embrace.

“I’m happy to give you a hug. I hug people in the middle of COVID,” the singer said, as he explained that he would not live in fear.

“Oh, I’m scared to death! You kidding me? But I’m sorry, I understood stopping life for a little while, but they cannot continue to stop life because of politics. And right now they’re stopping because of politics,” Meat Loaf said.

“And on CNN last night, it finally came out that the masks we’re all wearing are useless. But I’ve known that for six months. They don’t do anything. They don’t stop you from getting COVID. They’re just a nuisance and make your nose itch and make it so you can’t breathe,” he said.

“If I die, I die, but I’m not going to be controlled,” he said.

In a video a few weeks ago he told a fan “COVID’s a drag, but you can blame China,” so we can guess which political party the singer identified with, which is more likely the reason so many on the left are furious with him.

TMZ reported that their “sources say Meat Loaf has been outspoken about COVID, railing with folks in Australia recently about vaccine mandates. We do not know if he was vaccinated.”

We do not know his private health information and, as such, we do not know if he was vaccinated.

But that bit of information did not stop many on the left of mocking the death of the singer. And just random people on Twitter mind you, but big name people ranging from a state representative to an MSNBC television host and more.

“We mourn Mr. Loaf’s passing. In the end, he finally let us know what that one thing was that he wouldn’t do for love: Get vaccinated,” Democrat Texas State Rep. Gene Wu said in a tweet.

“Meat Loaf was great in “Rocky Horror Picture Show” (you youngins should check it out. It’s gloriously campy and rude fun!) His views on COVID vaccine mandates are feeling like yet another cautionary tale, but will just leave it at RIP and condolences,” MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid said on Twitter.

“Meat Loaf would do anything for love except get vaccinated,” progressive group The USA Singers said.

They followed that with another tweet literally laughing at the man’s death.

“Meat Loaf: Heaven can wait. Heaven: Lolz,” they tweeted.

And then there was tech culture blogger Xeni Jardin who called the singer a “pandemic a**hole.”

“Meat Loaf had COVID, a bad case, recently. He was an anti-science mask and vaccine denier. His vaccine status not released. He mocked public health measures before he died, told a reporter ‘If I Die, I Die’. Friends, Meat Loaf was a pandemic a**hole,” she said.

“You can have two feelings at once. If you were and are a fan? I get it, not mocking your love. But the dude was a d**k about the pandemic. Sounds like he fu**ed around and found out,” she said.

“Welp, we finally found out the one thing Meat Loaf wouldn’t do… get vaccinated,” music and pop culture writer Brittny Pierre said.

“Meat Loaf died of #COVID19 and recently spouted anti-vaccine propaganda, author Steve Silberman tweeted.

“I didn’t realize Meatloaf had fallen to the right wing with non reality based views on vaccines. I find it incredibly difficult to balance the ghoulish politics with gross ignorance. Still a sad loss of someone whose ballads I used to find unique contributions to the scene,” retired medical examiner Mabel Hams said.

“Not going to point out that he was an anti-mask science denier who had a very serious case of Covid. Not going to point out how he used his public platform to encourage others to ignore precautions. Just going to wish his family and loved ones comfort,” progressive activist Brianna Wu said.

“But I think it’s entirely ethical to mock public figures who engage in destructive behavior with Covid and then die,” she said.

There were a plethora of other responses assuming that the singer was not vaccinated and those that mocked his death but these were some of the more notable ones.

It is sad that some people can be so hateful that they are this cruel.
