Melania Trump once again responded to reports that quoted alleged sources purporting to have the inside track on the one-time first couple’s most intimate thoughts following the unprecedented indictment last week of former President Donald Trump.

She responded to a report by PEOPLE magazine quoting unnamed sources who said she was “uncomfortable” with her husband’s latest presidential run and intimated that she didn’t want anything to do with it.

“Melania is not now or hasn’t recently taken part in her husband’s political events,” a source reportedly told PEOPLE. “It is not comfortable for her.”

As per the source, Melania reportedly wants to have her personal space and life at their Palm Beach, Fla., residence of Mar-a-Lago. The source also claimed that she prefers not to be involved in the tumultuous and dramatic atmosphere that often surrounds her and her husband, especially following his indictment for allegedly paying hush money to an adult film star and a former Playboy model.

“Melania can be aloof and not particularly friendly because she simply wants to be left alone,” the source noted further, with PEOPLE going on to note:

Sources earlier told PEOPLE that Melania was angry about her husband’s role in the alleged hush money payment, which stems from a rumored extramarital affair with Daniels. The former porn star has claimed the affair took place less than four months after Melania gave birth to Barron in 2006.

“She remains angry and doesn’t want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned,” a source told PEOPLE ahead of the Manhattan grand jury indicting Donald. “She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends.”

On Tuesday, the former first lady’s office pushed back and advised readers to take such reports with a grain of salt.

In a statement posted to Twitter, the Office of Melania Trump said: “News organizations have made assumptions about the former First Lady’s stance on subjects that are personal, professional, and political over the past few weeks.

“In these articles, unnamed sources are cited to bolster the author’s claims. We ask readers to exercise caution and good judgment when determining whether or not stories concerning the former First Lady are accurate, particularly when they fail to cite Mrs. Trump as a source of information.”

Other reports recently noted that Melania did not accompany her husband when he went to New York to be arraigned on the charges.

And, additional speculation of trouble between the couple surfaced again after he did not thank her specifically for supporting him in remarks made after he returned from his arraignment.

“I have a great family, and they’ve done a fantastic job and we appreciate it very much. They’ve gone through a lot,” Donald Trump said at the time.

But that said, the former first couple was seen together dining and smiling with friends and guests at Mar-a-Lago over Easter.

On Monday, Page Six published a report suggesting that Melania’s recent meal with Donald was staged, and that the former president had “urged” Melania to join him as he lays the groundwork for a potential second term as president.

According to the New York Post, a “friend of the former first lady” said that Melania was upset about Donald’s indictment and numerous allegations claiming that she was not committed to their relationship.

On Sunday, Melania took to social media for the first time since her husband’s indictment with a holiday message, tweeting, “Happy Easter!” along with a picture of what appears to be a pink rose.

The former president himself took to his Truth Social platform, hit the all caps key, and wrote an ‘Easter’ message of his own:

“HAPPY EASTER TO ALL, INCLUDING THOSE THAT DREAM ENDLESSLY OF DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF DREAMING ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE, THOSE THAT ARE SO INCOMPETENT THEY DON’T REALIZE THAT HAVING A BORDER AND POWERFUL WALL IS A GOOD THING, & HAVING VOTER I.D., ALL PAPER BALLOTS, & SAME DAY VOTING WILL QUICKLY END MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD, & TO ALL OF THOSE WEAK & PATHETIC RINOS, RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS, SOCIALISTS MARXISTS, & COMMUNISTS WHO ARE KILLING OUR NATION, REMEMBER, WE WILL BE BACK!”

A “political source” who spoke to PEOPLE magazine immediately after the indictment said, “Melania and Donald were both shocked when they were told.”
