Former First Lady Melania Trump is supporting her husband’s bid for a second term in office.

While speaking to Breitbart News, she said that former President Donald Trump would return the nation to the success and prosperity of his first term in office.

“I support my husband’s decision to run for president of this wonderful Nation. His achievements during his administration had a great effect on all of us, and he can lead us toward success and prosperity again. I await the day when my husband returns to lead an America that is characterized by peace, love, and security,” Melania Trump said.

Trump delivered his highly-anticipated “big announcement” on Tuesday night and declared he’s making another run for the White House. While speaking from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump announced that he will be running for president in 2024.

“America’s comeback starts right now,” Trump said to a room full of supporters. “Unlike other presidents, I kept my promises.”

“The world was at peace, America was prospering, and our country was on track for an amazing future— because I made big promises to the American People and, unlike other Presidents, I kept my promises,” he said. “Under our leadership, we were a great and glorious nation, something you haven’t heard for quite a long period of time. We were a strong nation, and importantly we were a free nation. Now, we are a nation in decline. We are a failing nation.”

Trump declared: “I am tonight again announcing my candidacy for President of the United States.”

Ivanka Trump spoke out after her father, Donald Trump, announced another bid for the presidency Tuesday evening.

Ivanka issued a statement following the event explaining why she was not in attendance like some of her other siblings. It also comes after the New York Post reported that Donald Trump “spent part of daughter Tiffany’s lavish Mar-a-Lago wedding this past weekend trying to convince his much-loved elder daughter, Ivanka, and son-in-law Jared Kushner to be with him on stage” when he made his announcement.

“I love my father very much,” Ivanka said. “This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.”

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she added, per the Daily Wire. “I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments.”

She told Fox News that she is close to her dad and that he “hasn’t changed and will never change.”

“I’ve had many roles over the years but that of a daughter is one of the most elemental and consequential,” she said. “I am loving this time with my kids, loving life in Miami, and the freedom and privacy of having returned to the private sector. This has been one of the greatest times of my life.”

As she discussed her three children — Arabella, 11, Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 6 — she noted that they were at “critical ages” and as such she preferred to enjoy “these moments with them.”

“We’re happy where we are right now, and we will continue to support my father — as his kids,” Ivanka Trump added.

Donald Trump Jr. was not in attendance because he was on a hunting trip. Tiffany Trump was also not in attendance after getting married over the weekend. Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, was at Mar-a-Lago for the announcement.

Before his announcement, speculation was also rife that Trump will announce his pick for a vice presidential running mate “very soon,” as he is set to make a “big announcement.”

When asked by reporters who he would pick as his running mate, Trump said recently, “I’ll let you know very soon.”
