A Los Angeles meteorologist collapsed during a live television broadcast in what was a terrifying scene.
The co-anchors had just cut to CBS Los Angeles meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz when she started to turn white and leaned forward on her desk.
She attempted to catch herself but her eyes rolled in the back of her head and she continued to lean forward as, initially, her co-anchors, Nichelle Medina and Rachel Kim, did not appear to notice.
After a short pause, the co-anchors informed viewers that they were going to take a “quick break.”

“Our colleague Alissa Carlson became ill during our 7 AM newscast this morning. I want to thank her co-workers who took immediate action to comfort Alissa and call 911. Alissa is being treated at the hospital right now. Hopefully we’ll know more shortly. In the meantime, Alissa will be in our thoughts and we’re praying for her to be feeling much better soon,” CBS Los Angeles Vice President and News Director Mike Dello Stritto said to TMZ.

Carlson had previously experienced a similar episode years ago — throwing up on set during a weather report when she was at a different station — and as a result … she was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve. That was back in 2014.
The meteorologist took to Facebook to inform viewers that she was OK.
“Thanks for all the texts, calls, & messages. I’m going to be ok!” she said.
In January a similar scene unfolded during a presidential campaign announcement.
Republican Rollan Roberts II, a West Virginia state senator who was announcing a longshot bid for the presidency, hesitated as his wife collapsed during his speech.
It happened on Jan. 20 as he was announcing his bid for the presidency at the West Virginia State Capitol, The New York Post reported.
Footage showed an aide standing nearby trying to stop her from falling, but she dropped to the floor along with an American flag. Meanwhile, the candidate glanced over at his sprawled wife – and did nothing as several people walk over to her. After what seemed like an interminable five seconds, Roberts finally heads to her side. Not surprisingly, he has been mocked mercilessly on social media for his feeble response to his wife in her moment of distress.

“This guy is a real gem. She passes out 7 1/2 minutes into his speech, they cut to her sitting in a chair drinking water, the other guy is fixing the flag while Rolland drones on and on. Rolland is a Liberty University Alum,” another said.

Dang, he just stood there while others went to check on her…only after the 4th person is moving towards her does he go to his wife. He appears annoyed and uncaring..which tells a lot about his character.
