A new survey is decidedly bad news for President Joe Biden’s bid for a second term in the White House.

According to polling firm Rasmussen Reports, a majority of those recently surveyed believe that “Biden’s mental decline is real,” a perception that was only strengthened following a video of the president’s appearance at a Juneteenth celebration at the White House earlier this week.

The video caught Biden standing very stiffly, only smiling and staring straight ahead as those around him got into the groove of the music, dancing and singing.

Biden’s health is increasingly scrutinized on social media, which captures his slurred speech and frequent factual fumbles. The Washington Examiner reported that a current trend involves comparing his recent speeches to those from a few years ago.

In its poll, Rasmussen found that 57 percent think Biden is losing his mental edge. Even a third of Democrats agreed that “President Joe Biden is getting less and less mentally sharp,” as did half of Hispanic and black voters.

“The liberal media have refused to show Biden’s decline, even when they have the evidence and video as they did from Monday night’s event,” the Examiner pointed out. “Rasmussen said many voters believe the media are in cahoots with the White House and Democratic Party to cover for Biden as he enters his reelection campaign.”

The pollster said 60% believe the “news media are helping cover up evidence of President Biden’s declining mental sharpness.” The statistics show that 37 percent of Democrats, as well as a significant majority of black and Hispanic voters, are in agreement, similar to the previous question.

A former White House physician once again sounded the alarm earlier this month over Biden’s declining mental capacities following a bombshell report by The Wall Street Journal citing lawmakers and others who have had interactions with the president in recent months that his mind is fading fast.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), who served in the administrations of Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, reiterated his previous warnings about Biden’s declining mental condition in an interview with Fox News following the Journal report.

“The article’s just documenting what I’ve been saying all along: he’s not fit to be the commander-in-chief,” Jackson told Fox News Digital on Wednesday. “He’s got significant issues. He shouldn’t have the job. You know, it’s a national security issue for us.”

This follows a groundbreaking report by Journal, which, after several months of interviews with 45 individuals, claimed that congressional leaders and others who have met with Biden have observed he “seems slower now” and is “someone who experiences both good moments and bad ones.”

The report said, “Most of those who said Biden performed poorly were Republicans, but some Democrats said that he showed his age in several of the exchanges.”

Also, it has been clear for much of Biden’s term that there are times when he clearly struggles to speak, with video clips of his mental and physical gaffes going viral. Last year, administration officials convinced him to stop using the tall steps into Air Force One and instead use a lower entrance and exit with far fewer steps. Also, he now wears shoes that get better traction so that he avoids slips and falls.

Jackson theorized that the WSJ story could be the start of a political coup to replace Biden atop the Democratic ticket.

“I think that the fact that it came out like this and is so well sourced tells me that this might be the left’s first attempt to start laying the groundwork to get rid of him,” Jackson said.
