Elon Musk has been conspicuously silent on Twitter for some time, but he has now broken that silence, and with it the Internet.

After not tweeting for nine days the Tesla, Space X and Starlink CEO tweeted a photo of himself and his family with Pope Francis.

“Honored to meet @Pontifex yesterday,” he said in the caption of the tweet.

He also tweeted a tribute to a late YouTuber.

“Popular Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade with 12 Billion subscribers recently passed away at the age of 23 due to cancer, and this made [me] realize that cancer is [an] absurd piece of literal garbage and death, but also try to live your best life with people who know. They could die the following day, and you would regret not doing things with them,” he said in a tweet that included a quote from the popular video game character Sonic the Hedgehog.

Before that his last tweet was on June 21 when he shared a photo of gas prices higher than $7.00.

On Fox News, Charlie Gasparino said that he believes Musk had not tweeted because of the ongoing negotiations between him and the Twitter board of directors.

“Here’s what bankers are telling me,” he said on Friday, before Musk’s tweets, to host Neil Cavuto on “Your World,” Mediaite reported. “So, take it for what it’s worth. And some of these bankers proclaim to be involved at least tangentially in the discussions, Musk’s discussions to take over Twitter. They say he is negotiating right now with Twitter about a lower price. His lawyers essentially have told him to lay off Twitter while this negotiation goes down because they’re not sure exactly where it’s going to show up.”

“This thing could also be heading for litigation,” he said. “For once, he’s listening to his lawyers. So that’s kind of where we are. And the price tag, a lot of people think, that’s gonna be worked out.”

“They’re looking at a way to creatively finance this where everybody makes a few bucks and walks away,” he said. “They’re in a pickle.”

On June 21 Twitter’s board “unanimously recommended” that its shareholders vote to approve Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the social media company.

The board of directors unanimously recommended that its shareholders take the deal that Musk offered, Fox News reported.

“The Twitter Board, after considering various factors described in the section of this proxy statement captioned “The Merger— Recommendation of the Twitter Board and Reasons for the Merger,” has unanimously: (1) determined that the merger agreement is advisable and the merger and the other transactions contemplated by the merger agreement are fair to, advisable and in the best interests of Twitter and its stockholders; and (2) adopted and approved the merger,” it said.

Last week the Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink CEO gave an interview where he tore into the unions “stranglehold” on the Democrat party and called it “next-level insanity,” Fox News reported.

Elon Musk criticized the Democratic Party in the second part of a long-form interview with the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley club.

Musk took the opportunity to explain his feelings about the Democratic Party, their relationship to labor unions, and Tesla’s exclusion from a White House electric vehicles event because the company is not unionized.

Musk took particular issue with the Democratic Party’s strong relationship with union leadership.

“The general public is not aware of the degree to which unions control the Democratic Party. One does not need to speculate on this point,” he said.

“Last year, Biden held an EV summit where Tesla was explicitly not allowed to come, but the [United Auto Workers] was. So, Tesla has made two-thirds of all the electric vehicles in the United States,” he said.

Tesla, which is owned by musk, is not unionized, which musk says is because of “negative unemployment” in the Bay Area, which means his employees can pursue other opportunities if they want to.

“So, deliberately excluding us from an EV summit at the White House — but including UAW — tells you everything you need to know,” the CEO said.

“They have so much power over the White House that they can exclude Tesla from an EV summit — insane,” he said.
