During a speech at the Cap Times Idea Fest event in Wisconsin, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made strong remarks about the importance of preserving democracy, emphasizing the significance of swing states like Wisconsin.

She stated that it was crucial to “vanquish Trump” in order to restore American democracy and reclaim a Republican Party that she believes has been hijacked. These comments came after what seems to have been a failed attack on former President Donald Trump.

“He projects. He says ‘crazy Nancy’ — he is crazy,” Pelosi said. “He says ‘crooked Hillary’ — he’s crooked. Every adjective he uses is really about himself. So when he says people are eating cats and dogs, I’m just wondering about him.”

“For the good of our country, it is absolutely essential that (House Minority Leader) Hakeem Jeffries has the gavel (as speaker) … when Congress votes to accept the results of the Electoral College,” Pelosi added.

“So much is at stake,” she said. “This isn’t an election we would have against George W. Bush or Mitt Romney or Bob Dole or John McCain: We have an election, we have an outcome and we go to work. … This is a different election.”

Her remarks came one day after Trump survived what appeared to be an attack on his life on Sunday.
