Obama Judge Pulls Bait-And-Switch – Gives Democrats HUGE Victory

President Donald Trump has been doing just about everything in his power to combat illegal immigration, secure the southern border with a massive wall, and make the nation safer for Americans.

It hasn’t always been easy given he has gotten little to no help from Democrats and left-wing judges who push activism from the courts.

Despite the Supreme Court giving the president several wins on his immigration policies, an Obama-appointed judge just handed Democrats a huge win.

U.S. District Court Judge Loretta Biggs has issued a permanent nationwide injunction against yet another Trump administration immigration policy: a move to make it harder for foreigners to remain in the U.S. after their legal status runs out.

Biggs, who was appointed by Obama, said the 2018 action by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service “ran afoul of federal law.”

Politico reports:

The policy in dispute involves how immigration officials calculate the duration of a foreigner’s “unlawful presence” in the U.S. Several American college presidents sued over the change, arguing that it could jeopardize more than one million foreign students, scholars, and others who sometimes lose their legal status when switching schools or for other reasons.

Under the policy shift, immigration officials would have started the clock sooner on some individuals, creating potential roadblocks if they sought certain forms of relief in court.

Ultimately, some foreigners who might have had options to stay in the U.S. under the prior policy could have faced deportation.

Biggs said in her 26-page decision that the policy “impermissibly conflicts” with immigration law.

This ruling is mind-boggling.

The Trump administration’s rule aims to make it harder for immigrants to remain in the U.S. after their legal status expires.

If an immigrant no longer has the legal right to remain in the U.S., most would agree they should not be allowed to stay.

The Obama-appointed judge ruled that those who illegally enter the country have the “right” to remain there after their “legal status” expires.

The ruling basically tramples on immigration laws and gives the impression that anyone who does not have the legal right to be in the United States can stay.

While securing the border and continuing to build more of the wall between the U.S. and Mexico remains a top priority, the Trump administration is forced to deal with activist judges using their power to push a political agenda.
