House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi promised she would not pursue impeachment unless it was bi-partisan and had some Republicans on board.
But the 79-year-old Speaker of The House has been humiliated by, not only, the fact that is appears she will not get one Republican on board with her sham impeachment, but the fact that she is also losing Democrats.
He entire legacy as Speaker of The House is going to be stained by this ridiculous, partisan impeachment and she has only herself to blame by caving into the pressure of the fringe of her Party.
New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew is furious at the impeachment of the president and has decided to show it by leaving the Democrat Party and joining the Republicans.
He was one of two Democrats who voted against formalizing the impeachment inquiry and, rumors are, that he is one of many who do not want to vote to impeach the president.
The only thing bipartisan about the impeachment of President Trump is going to be the no votes in The House and the votes to acquit him in The Senate.
And when it is all said and done the legacies of not only Speaker Rep. Pelosi, but also Reps. Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler, are going to be forever tarnished.
Van Drew told top Republicans in The House about his decision to join their Party and it is rumored that he also told President Trump when he met with him at The White House on Friday.
President Trump warned Democrats in districts that he won that they are going to damage their futures if they vote to impeach him.
““There are 31 House Democrats in Trump won Congressional Districts. Those Dems will have to answer to their constituents come 2020.
“If you look at the facts, there’s no crime, there’s no witness, there’s no evidence, there’s no victim, President Zelensky said there was absolutely no pressure.
“I don’t know of any crime that was committed where the actual victim wasn’t aware of it….and, they got the call, they got the meeting, and they got the money.
“Unbelievably, the Democrats have weaponized the Impeachment process, they have trampled on our Constitution, and they have done irreparable harm to our Republic. The American people are going to speak up and speak out about this. I think this guarantees Trump’s re-election in 2020,’” he said.
The Representatives in districts the president won have a tough choice and either way Republicans wins.
If they abandon Speaker Pelosi and vote against impeachment her tenure as Speaker could be done and if they vote to impeach him there is a good chance they do not win their next election and the House comes back to Republicans.
