White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre once again lost her composure on Wednesday after a reporter pressed her about whether President Joe Biden has been lying about having no knowledge of son Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
The reporter’s question came after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) made an announcement on Tuesday that Republicans would be moving forward with an impeachment inquiry over alleged evidence that Biden and his family have been engaged in a culture of corruption for years.
Among the allegations is that Biden, as vice president, took a bribe from a foreign national.
“How confident are you that there will be no evidence that incriminates President Biden in Hunter’s business dealings as this goes forward?” the reporter asked.
Republicans “have spent all year investigating the president,” Jean-Pierre said. “That’s what they’ve spent all year doing, and have turned up with no evidence — none — he — that he did anything wrong. I mean, that is what we’ve heard over and over again from their almost year-long investigation. And that’s because the president didn’t do anything wrong…”
“Is lying to the public wrong?” a different reporter chimed in.
After she continued answering the question, Jean-Pierre then addressed the ‘lying’ question: “To my friend in the back who just yelled out, which is incredibly inappropriate.”
“Do you dispute that he lied?” the reporter pressed further
Jean-Pierre didn’t answer the question but instead claimed that Republicans “actually debunked their ridiculous attacks.”
At the conclusion of the presser, a reporter asked KJP: “Can you explain why the president interacted with so many of his son’s foreign business associates? More than half of voters told CNN they believe the president was involved, and he lied. You can’t have a response to that, Karine?”
She continued walking out of the briefing room without responding.

In June, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer revealed that newly released emails between Hunter Biden and his business associates with the Obama White House appear to cast doubt on Joe Biden’s claims that he was unaware of his son’s business dealings when he was serving as the vice president.
“Hunter Biden and his then-business partners were in frequent communication with top aides in the Obama administration while Joe Biden was vice president, according to emails that the National Archives recently released to the conservative group America First Legal. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), who is leading a sweeping investigation into the Biden family, told the Washington Examiner that the emails further how Joe Biden has repeatedly ‘lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings,’” the Washington Examiner reported.
Comer said: “We know Hunter Biden’s business associates visited the White House numerous times during the Obama-Biden administration, and now-unearthed emails reveal Hunter Biden and his associates sought access to the White House and official government events.
“The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the Bidens’ complex financial transactions to determine the extent of their influence peddling schemes to determine if President Biden is compromised and our national security is threatened,” he added at the time.
The Examiner added in its report: “Comer’s remarks come after a handful of Republican members of Congress raised concerns over the unearthed emails to the Washington Examiner on Thursday, with Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) alleging that the ‘Biden family’s corruption’ is ‘far worse than Watergate.’
“The emails, as well as records on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop that were reviewed by the Washington Examiner, show Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner Eric Schwerin contacted top aides for Joe Biden to see if an associate could attend a 2010 State Department lunch with Chinese government officials,” the outlet noted further.
