Rhode Island police have arrested a Democrat state senator for committing what appears to be an extremely petty act against a supporter of former President Donald Trump.
According to reports, Cranston Police reportedly placed State Senator Joshua Miller (D) in custody after charging him with vandalism and malicious injury to property for “keying” a vehicle that had an “anti-Biden” sticker.
Miller allegedly committed the act in a Garden City Center parking lot around 3:30 p.m.
After suspecting him of causing damage to the SUV, the owner reported the incident to the police and identified the 69-year-old politician as the culprit. According to the owner, witnesses saw a man standing next to their vehicle, holding a keychain with a single key. Upon confronting him about the incident, the man swiftly walked away.
The victim, whose identity was not reported but is said to be a supporter of Trump, observed a parked vehicle nearby adorned with a bumper sticker that read “Re-elect Senator Josh Miller.” After the incident, the victim conducted an online search and identified Miller as the suspect.

Miller, who has served as a representative of Cranston and Providence since 2006, first denied the accusation to both the authorities and the victim.
“He was blocking my way, saying I scratched his car, I didn’t scratch his car,” Miller said in a video posted on social media. “I’m a state senator — I think he’d recognize. I think he’s one of the gun nuts.”
An unidentified male in the video responded, saying he doesn’t “know any of the senators, to be honest.”
A local NBC affiliate approached Miller asking if he keyed a Trump supporter’s car.
Miller responded, “I have to review the charges.”

Rhode Island State Sen. Joshua Miller was arrested last week after vandalizing a car that had a “Biden sucks” bumper sticker, claiming he was “dared” to do it.

According to the report, Miller changed clothes at the scene in order to avoid being identified. When a reporter asked if he had removed his jacket at the location, he responded: “I took my jacket off — that’s not against the law.”
The Democrat appeared to admit to authorities that he had committed the crime after police showed up at his home saying that they had obtained a video of the incident.
Miller willingly went to the police station, where he faced charges of vandalism and malicious injury to property. Following the charges, he was released on a personal recognizance bond of $1,000.
“Nobody is above the law, including those who make and enforce the laws,” Cranston Police Chief Michael Winquist said in a news release Friday. “The officers who handled this investigation did so with fairness, integrity, and without preferential treatment.”
Reports said he will be formally arraigned in court on July 18.
The Post Millenial reported that the Democratic senator has engaged in controversial activities in the past. For instance, one video previously captured him telling a man, “Go f*ck yourself” after the man told Miller, “The Second Amendment shall not be infringed, you people need to understand that.”
Rhode Island GOP Chairman Joe Powers said Miller should step down from his position following the arrest.
“This behavior is unbecoming of anyone holding a leadership position,” Powers noted on Twitter. “State Senator Joshua Miller has proven once again that he does not have the composure required to represent every constituent in his district and must resign immediately.”
In January, U.S. House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark’s child was arrested in Boston after allegedly vandalizing a monument and then assaulting a police officer while being taken into custody.
According to a Boston police news release, Jared Dowell of Melrose was arrested during the anti-police protest. Dowell was placed under arrest and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Destruction or Injury of Personal Property, and Damage of Property by Graffiti/Tagging.
Clark released a statement on Twitter following the arrest and described Dowell as “non-binary” and referred to her child as “Riley” and “my daughter.”
