New Poll Is Bad News For Joe Biden

An all-time high percentage of Americans think that in November, former President Donald Trump will defeat President Joe Biden.

According to a survey conducted on Wednesday by YouGov and The Economist, 49% of American people believe that Trump, as the Republican contender, would defeat Biden in the 2024 presidential contest. 16 percent of Democratic participation, 46 percent of independents, and 88 percent of Republicans were included in that figure.

“Trump’s odds for reelection were significantly greater than the 26 percent of adults who said they believed Biden would win in November. Another 25 percent of the 1,582 adults surveyed between July 13 and 16 said they were unsure. The survey specified that participants should pick who they believe will be successful ‘regardless of who you prefer’ for president,” Newsweek reported.

“A spokesperson for YouGov confirmed with Newsweek that the recent poll result is the highest number of support Trump has received when compared to past surveys where participants were asked who they viewed as the likely next president. Last week’s poll found that 48 percent of adults anticipated that Trump would be reelected, while 29 percent picked Biden,” the outlet added.

Before the June 27 presidential debate, 41% of respondents to a recent Economist/YouGov study said they thought Trump would win, while 32% thought Biden would win.

In addition, participants were asked if they believed that Biden would resign as the Democratic Party’s nominee before November.

Opinions within the party on the president’s withdrawal from the 2024 race so that a Democrat can replace him on the ballot have been divided. According to polls, Vice President Kamala Harris is the front-runner to succeed Biden if he steps down.

The president was “not very” or “not at all likely” to withdraw from the race, according to the majority of Americans (65%). According to 19% of respondents, it was “very” or “somewhat likely” that Biden would permit a different Democrat to run.

More than half (51%) of American voters stated that Biden should withdraw as the Democratic nominee “definitely” or “probably.”

According to Wednesday’s poll, Americans’ opinions of Biden and Harris are almost equally favorable (38 percent to 39 percent). Harris also performed better in polls than Trump’s running partner, Senator JD Vance of Ohio.

Merely 22% of the respondents said that they had a positive opinion of Vance. By a margin of five percentage points, 43 percent of respondents said they had a positive opinion of Trump, compared to Biden.

A recent CBS News/YouGov poll revealed that a significant 72 percent of voters believe President Joe Biden should not run for a second term, which is an increase of nine points since February.

This suggests potential concerns among voters about Biden’s ability to complete his term. Democratic strategists and donors will probably pay close attention to the poll as they evaluate the effect of Biden’s recent debate performance on his candidacy.

It’s worth noting that among Democrats, 46 percent expressed the belief that Biden should not seek a second term, representing a 10-point increase since February. When asked why they believe Biden should not run again, respondents provided the following reasons:

–His age: 86 percent

–Decisions he might make in office: 71 percent

–His record as president: 66 percent

–Ability to campaign effectively: 59 percent

–Seventy-two percent of voters say Biden does not have the “mental” and “cognitive health” to serve, up from 65 percent since June 9.

“After the debate, some Democratic officials reportedly said Joe Biden should step aside as the nominee and give another Democrat a chance to run for president in 2024. That idea finds resonance with nearly half the nation’s rank-and-file Democrats,” CBS reported.

“That’s related to perceptions of Mr. Biden’s health: Democrats who don’t think Mr. Biden has the mental and cognitive health to serve are more likely to say he shouldn’t be the nominee. And that former number has increased among Democrats. It’s also gone up among independents,” the outlet added.

A leading pollster took a deep dive into the results of a new survey regarding Biden’s job performance and approval, explaining that the data is much worse for him than what’s been reported in the mainstream media.

“Key demographic groups aren’t just mad at Joe Biden; they’re abandoning him in droves. When you consider his historically low polls, this isn’t a traditional ‘presidential slump’ that can be brushed off and fixed with some stumping and handshaking. What we’re witnessing right now, and what the media won’t tell you, is that this is a ‘CODE RED’ in the political world. We’re watching the complete collapse of a political figure, and the media is in a frenzy, trying to cover it up,” the outlet reported.

“The Suffolk/USAToday Poll is showing what we’re all seeing, which is NOT a normal weak showing 1-year out for an incumbent president seeking re-election,” Baris said noted on the X platform.

“Historically, he’s far below Barack Obama at this point (who won) and significantly lower than Donald Trump (who lost). H.W. Bush was higher, but his approval was falling RAPIDLY from far higher than Biden has ever been,” he added.

“It’s not just that these demographic groups are ‘abandoning’ Joe Biden. Donald Trump is gaining among key Democratic constituencies, Hispanic, Under 35. It’s the one poll NOT showing gains among Black voters. Clearly he is in the consensus,” Baris continued.
