“You know, we are living in strange times all across America right now, I think. And I have the honor of being right in the middle of all of it,” the mayor said. “You know, the only thing you can do moving forward is just keep moving forward in a compassionate and kind way, and things take care of themselves. You know occasionally in life things happen. You know, you get knocked down. You gotta get back up and keep going.”
It comes at a time when violence against those who serve the nation is increasing.
A protester in Los Angeles was tackled by the U.S. Secret Service on Wednesday after she walked out onto the street and approached President Joe Biden’s motorcade.
Biden was downtown for the ninth Summit of the Americas and conducted an interview with far-left late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
In video clips posted to Twitter, a woman can be seen moving onto a blocked-off street with a bullhorn.
The woman, who appeared to be carrying a bag over her shoulder, walked straight into the street and toward the presidential motorcade.
“She’s gonna get hit by a car,” one person can be heard saying in the video clip as the woman walked to the middle of the street.
After a few cars drove past her, a Secret Service agent can be seen running toward her. The agent caught her by the shoulders, pushed her first away from the line of cars, and then eventually dropped her to the ground.
As he took her down, someone else could be heard yelling, “Get off her!”
“Watch my back, watch my back,” one officer shouted, prompting another to respond, “I got you, go ahead.”
The woman on the ground was kicking, screaming, bucking her body, and even ripped off the agent’s hat while he was trying to control her.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!” another woman yelled as officers signaled for her to back away.
“Stop resisting! I’m Secret Service,” the officer on the ground told the protester.
“Get the f*** off me!” she yelled. “Get the f*** off me!”
She shouted, “An abortion ban will not stop abortions! Only safe ones! Women are going to die! They’re going to die!”

Biden, during his interview with Kimmel, made a slew of divisive and incendiary comments about Fox News and his political opponents.
Below is a transcript of Biden blaming conservatives and Fox News for his problems:
Kimmel: It’s all screwed up and that’s the thing.
Biden: It is screwed up, but we are only a few votes away from being able to straighten it out. You have to get the message across in a way that is understandable to people like the folks in my family when we drew up. Tell people just what the facts are. And the facts are, this is about building the economy. When I ran I said, I want to build a new economy. No more trickle-down. From the bottom-up, and the middle-out. When the middle does well, everybody does well. The wealthy do very, very well. The idea, there are 54 major corporations in America made $40 billion last year and don’t pay a penny in taxes. Not a penny. How many think the tax code is fair anywhere along the line? I’m not being facetious now, I’m being deadly earnest. They don’t pay a penny. So if we had a minimum tax of 15%, just on – the minimum of 15, doesn’t hurt them at all, they make a lot of money still, and we can raise a lot of money to make sure that child care doesn’t cost you 1,400 bucks a month.
Kimmel: This all makes perfect sense. And the fact that this makes sense is why it doesn’t make sense and why it seems so crazy and that we have so many problems and that – maybe it’s just that Americans aren’t as knowledgeable as they should be, or maybe there’s a Death Star pumping false information into our brains.
