California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein has been facing intense calls to resign from office.
Back in November, several Democratic senators criticized Feinstein, saying she was not the right person to serve as the top Democrat for the Supreme Court nomination hearings of now-Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
In what seemed like an attempt to appease her colleagues, Feinstein stepped down as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Shortly thereafter, the left ramped-up calls for her to immediately step down from Congress altogether because of alleged cognitive decline.
Feinstein, who would be 91-years-old when 2024 rolls around, has announced that she will be running for re-election.
In this case that she wins her election in the deep blue state of California, she will be 97-years-old at the end of the term.
“It is not unprecedented for a politician to file these types of documents even if they do not intend to ultimately go through with a campaign. There are implications for moving funds from previous campaign war chests, or being able to fundraise now and then transfer the cash to other entities. However, Feinstein has not yet confirmed that the move is purely procedural,” Los Angeles Magazine reported.
Even allies to Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders are vowing to go after Feinstein:

Some Democrats want Feinstein out so badly that a few alleged last month that the senator has “declining mental capabilities.”
New Yorker’s Jane Mayer published a report claiming Democrats are frustrated and alarmed at the 87-year-old Californian’s rapid deterioration.
Mayer claims that Feinstein “often forgets meetings and berates staffers.”
According to the report, Feinstein is “seriously struggling” and in a downward spiral of cognitive decline raising questions of why she was even allowed to run again in 2018 with it being clear that that Democrat leadership is desperately in need of an infusion of young blood.
According to the New Yorker:
But many others familiar with Feinstein’s situation describe her as seriously struggling, and say it has been evident for several years. Speaking on background, and with respect for her accomplished career, they say her short-term memory has grown so poor that she often forgets she has been briefed on a topic, accusing her staff of failing to do so just after they have. They describe Feinstein as forgetting what she has said and getting upset when she can’t keep up. One aide to another senator described what he called a “Kabuki” meeting in which Feinstein’s staff tried to steer her through a proposed piece of legislation that she protested was “just words” which “make no sense.” Feinstein’s staff has said that sometimes she seems herself, and other times unreachable. “The staff is in such a bad position,” a former Senate aide who still has business in Congress said. “They have to defend her and make her seem normal.”
Feinstein has always been known as a difficult taskmaster. She is said to have told someone applying for a job in her office, “I don’t get ulcers—I give them.” A stickler for detail, she demanded to see every page going out of her office with her name on it. But with her diminishing capacity, this has become increasingly difficult. The former Senate staffer who still works with Congress declared, “It’s been a disaster.”
Isn’t it quite ironic that the same Democrats who are throwing Feinstein under the bus for her senior moments all rallied around Joe Biden, a man who spent months locked in his basement and struggles mightily to piece together a coherent sentence?
