Gun Sales Hit New Record Under Biden Amid Rising Crime, Terrorism Concerns

Sales of firearms have hit a new record during President Biden’s term as more Americans grow concerned about rising violent crime and the threat of terrorism following the October attack on Israel by Hamas that killed nearly 1,400 people.

With crime seemingly worsening in Democrat-run cities and millions of encounters with illegal immigrants — many from terrorism-sponsoring countries — over the course of the past year, gun sales soared past 14 million, with record sales in November, the Washington Examiner reported.

The outlet noted: The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the industry representative that adjusts FBI background check data to estimate gun sales, said that there were 1,595,476 sales last month. The group said earlier that there were 214,913 guns sold on Black Friday alone, a new high for the day known for Christmas sales and buying. For the year, the group estimates sales at 14,072,224.

“This bucks the narrative by some that the firearm market is saturated,” NSSF spokesman Mark Oliva said, per the outlet.

It also goes against the expectation that efforts by Biden and left-wing Democratic mayors and governors to ban popular firearm models would temper sales. To that end, the move by Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to limit or ban the sales of AR-15-style pistols has only led to an increase in the sale of AR-15 rifles, still the most popular in the country.

Gun stores and Second Amendment experts argue that this trend is a reflection of everyday Americans taking responsibility for their own safety and security. With the FBI issuing warnings about potential terrorist attacks and numerous media reports highlighting instances of random armed carjackings and robberies, particularly in urban liberal cities like Washington, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, individuals are increasingly turning to firearms for self-defense, The Examiner noted further.

“We saw a spike in sales following the October 7th attacks on Israel, and that carried forward, helping us report strong sales on Black Friday and into Cyber Week. We have also seen steady sales during this first week of December. While the COVID bubble has burst, business has been increasing steadily, and we expect a successful December,” North Carolina-based Hyatt Guns Marketing Manager Justin Anderson told the outlet.

“November’s figures of nearly 1.6 million background checks for the sale of a firearm at retail is a very strong indicator of a vibrant demand for lawful firearm ownership,” NSSF’s Oliva added.

“The firearm industry typically sees a slight upswing in the number of background checks in the later months of the year, which coincide with hunting seasons and the holiday shopping sales. However, there are many communities with sustained levels of crime that have not abated,” Oliva continued.

“Those concerns, along with the punishing anti-gun measures by the Biden administration and threats of more gun control promised by the Biden-Harris reelection campaign, cannot be discounted as contributing factors. Americans have demonstrated month after month and year-after-year, Second Amendment rights matter, and they are investing their hard-earned dollars to exercise their right to lawfully possess firearms before the right can be further infringed,” he said.

A year ago, a self-professed lifelong Democratic voter became fed up with her party and is called out local Democratic officials amid spiraling crime rates after she witnessed an armed carjacking in front of her own home.

Neighborhood commissioner Denise Rucker Krepp, a lifelong resident of Washington, D.C., said it was high time for the city to get serious about criminal activity.

In an interview with Fox News, Krepp “pushed back against those in her own party who are advocating for a sweeping criminal code overhaul to soften repercussions on crime,” the outlet reported. Krepp believes the measure will have a horrendous impact on the city.

“I think it has to come down to every single person being impacted, and that’s what’s happening in my single member district where I’ve had a rape and murder, armed carjackings, home invasions, robberies, stabbings, shootings,” Krepp told Fox & Friends, arguing the crime wave is affecting people of every political persuasion.
