Fox News host Sean Hannity’s swanky New York-area mansion has sold to what the realtor described as a “fan” of the legacy network personality and at a nice profit.

“After a bidding war, Sean Hannity’s waterfront Long Island estate has sold for roughly $12.7 million to a fan of the Fox News star, according to listing agent Shawn Elliott of Nest Seekers International,” The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week. “The ‘Hannity’ host put the estate on the market for $13.75 million in May, a few months after announcing his move from New York to Florida.”

Elliott refused to disclose the buyer’s identity, emphasizing only the buyer’s admiration for Hannity and his shows. Furthermore, the buyer acquired not only the furniture in the Oyster Bay, N.Y., house but also the books in the library, resulting in a total purchase exceeding $13 million. The deal was completed on June 7, the WSJ reported.

The estate is roughly 11,000 square feet, the report said. “I think there was a little bit of a star factor,” Elliott said. Nonetheless, he added, the buyer “got a great deal.” With a private dock on Oyster Bay, a par-3 golf course, and a separate putting green, the nearly 6-acre estate received four offers and went into contract within a week, Elliott said. In addition to the dock and golf amenities, the property has a swimming pool and lighted tennis court, the WSJ added.

An entity linked to Hannity bought the waterfront property for $8.5 million in 2008, according to property records. Hannity invested several million dollars in renovations, Elliott stated.

Elliott, who marketed the property with his colleague and son Zachary Elliott, stated that the luxury market is generally experiencing an increase in activity. “There’s such a limited amount of inventory right now and there’s tremendous demand,” he said, adding that Hannity’s buyer offered cash and other favorable terms. “Sean got a great buyer who wanted to close in 30 days,” he said.

Hannity announced in January that he had left New York, his home state, for the “free” state of Florida, where he has been broadcasting ever since.

“If anybody is listening to this program for any length of time, been threatening now to do this for quite a while. But we are now beginning our first broadcast of my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida. I am out. I am done. I’m finished,” Hannity said.

“New York, New York. Goodbye. Florida. Florida. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. But it’s great to be here. And I will tell you, one of the things that I was told either before, Linda, but feeling good tonight, by the way, and I’m that because she entertains everybody. I bet she was entertaining every day working or not working. And no, she worked a number of days. But and she’s such a good entertainer and such a great host is that anyone would want her back as soon as we can. I was told even before this that it just it just the time was right. I was able to put the final exclamation points on what needed to be done. And here I am,” Hannity said.

“And finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values. I have a governor by the name of Ron DeSantis and Senators Marco Rubio and Senator Rick Scott,” he added.

Years ago, then-conservative talk radio king Rush Limbaugh similarly relocated from New York to Florida, and for nearly the same reasons — too much expense, regulations, and left-wing politics in the Empire State.

Limbaugh moved to West Palm Beach, where he broadcast his weekday show. His home was listed last year by Limbaugh’s widow, Kathryn Adams Limbaugh, and was purchased for $155 million by an anonymous buyer through an LLC in March.

Limbaugh died from lung cancer in February 2021.
