Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo is going after Joe Biden and his administration’s immigration policies, calling it a “national security problem.”

During an interview with Breitbart at a Williamson County Republican Party event, Pompeo slammed the Biden administration over their inaction.

Breitbart News asked, “In the last full fiscal year of the Obama administration, 80,000 refugees were allowed to enter into the United States, some from hotbeds of terrorism, like Syria, Sudan, and Yemen. Your last full fiscal year, it was down to something like 18,000, with no refugees from these hotbeds of terrorism. Now, under the Biden administration, this next fiscal year, 125,000 refugees will be allowed to enter the United States. There’s no indication the Biden administration will prevent refugees from these hotbeds of terrorism from entering the United States legally as refugees. Is that a national security problem?”

“Of course it’s a national security problem, in the same way that the transit of people across our borders who are coming here unlawfully is a national security problem,” Pompeo said.

“We were very clear. America’s always a generous place. We welcome those who have real problems and want to come to America and are under threat, under our asylum laws. We’re the most generous nation in the history of the world with respect to asylum, but we need to secure America and America’s borders, and we need to make sure we know who’s coming across, and the numbers that are coming across,” he continued.

“As we sit here today, the numbers that are coming across, both unlawfully and formally through our asylum and refugee programs, are staggering, and I am very concerned that they are not sufficiently vetted in a way that can protect the American people from the threats that they may pose,” Pompeo added.

The Joe Biden border crisis continues to get worse by the day.

A new projection from the Center for Immigration Studies reveals that a record 210,000 illegal aliens were apprehended in July, marking the worst month in 21 years.

Back in March, Kamala Harris was given the task of being the “border czar” and she has done next to nothing to actually fix the unprecedented surge in migration.

Now, several top Republicans are calling for action against Harris.

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley tweeted that Harris should be fired from her role.

Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz took to Twitter on Monday to criticized Biden and Harris for the continuing crisis.

Back in June, a whopping 56 Republican lawmakers are calling on Biden to replace Harris as the official tasked with addressing the migrant crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

GOP Rep. Glenn Grothman wrote a damaging letter directed to Harris, pointing out her obvious failure to visit the border: “The @VP STILL hasn’t visited the border. You can’t truly know the situation until you speak with people on the ground. I and 55 of my colleagues sent this letter to @POTUS demanding her removal from this position because 180k encounters, a 21-year high, is unacceptable.”

Grothman tore into Harris, saying: “Despite being in the midst of a border crisis this country has not seen in two decades, Vice President Harris has not yet shown adequate interest in observing this crisis first-hand. In the 85 days since the Vice President has been tasked with solving this crisis, she has yet to visit the border and meet with Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials, and local law enforcement officials.”

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich recently took aim at Harris and said she has failed to respond to his invitation to tour the crisis at the US-Mexico border.

“I guess if you were a philosopher you would say no response is a very loud response because we’ve not received any response,” Brnovich said.

Days after Biden appointed Harris to oversee his administration’s border responses, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, called her “the worst possible choice.”
