GOP Sen. Rick Scott of Florida did not mince any words on Tuesday in giving an assessment of President Joe Biden’s current condition.

As reported by Burgess Everett, POLITICO’s congressional bureau chief, the former Sunshine State governor believes that the president’s time in the Oval Office should come to an abrupt end for his own good and certainly the good of the nation.

“Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated and confused. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He’s incapable of leading and he’s incapable of carrying out his duties,” said Scott, as quoted on Twitter by Everett.

USA Features News adds:

The remarks come as fuel, food, housing, rent, and used car costs have soared, hitting all U.S. consumers in the pocketbook. In addition, ongoing supply chain issues are creating widening shortages of everything from lumber to baby formula, the latter of which hasn’t even been mentioned by the president though it has been worsening for months.

Recent surveys show that Scott’s concerns and opinions are shared by a high and growing number of Americans:

Just 45 percent of voters believe that he is “mentally fit.” That number has gone unchanged over the past two months. It also tracks with an ABC poll last month which found 54 percent of Americans do not believe that Biden has the “mental sharpness” for office.

According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, a strong majority of voters said Biden is unfit to serve as president while also revealing the lowest job approval rating (37 percent) from the poll since becoming president over a year ago.

“The recent poll revealed that the “underlying weakness” is to the degree that most adults “have doubts about his personal capacities.” When the respondents were asked if he was a strong leader, 59 percent said no, while 36 percent said yes. In fact, those percentages resemble his job approval; 37 percent approve and 55 percent disapprove,” Breitbart reported.

“When asked about Biden’s “mental sharpness” to serve as the nation’s commander-in-chief, more than half — 54 percent — said they do not think Biden currently possesses the mental acuity to do so, while just 40 percent said he is.

That is a distinct change from when respondents were asked the same question in May 2020, as Biden was campaigning: 51 percent said he had the “mental sharpness” needed to serve as president, while 43 percent said he did not,” the report added.

In April, nearly 40 GOP congressional members demanded that Biden take a mental fitness test and make the results public.

Led by Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, the White House physician under Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, 37 other Republican colleagues signed a letter to Biden on Tuesday in which they said they had “concern” about his “current cognitive state.”

“My colleagues and I are again asking President Biden to immediately undergo a formal cognitive screening exam, such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA),” Jackson wrote.

“As a former physician to three Presidents of the United States, I know what it takes mentally and physically to execute the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” Jackson added. “Joe Biden has continually proven to me and to the world that something isn’t right. The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President’s cognitive ability.”

The Lone Star Republican said taking “the cognitive test will be an important first step” for Biden to reassure concerned Americans that he is fit for office or “in identifying and properly treating symptoms of impairment that are consistent with a variety of cognitive diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia, Parkinson’s, or multiple sclerosis.”

“This is not a partisan issue. When I discussed taking a cognitive test with President Trump, he was eager to assure the American people and to put the fake news media’s stories to bed,” Jackson wrote. “Why won’t President Biden do the same?

“We can only assume the worst if he doesn’t submit to the same standard that his own party demanded of the last Administration,” he noted further. “The precedent has been set.”
