The Senate failed to pass a bill known as the “Border Act,” which Democrats say would improve border security. The bill did not meet the 60-vote threshold as a standalone measure.

Fifty members opposed advancing the bill, while only 43 members supported it. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) criticized the handling of the legislation, calling it a “stunt” rather than a serious attempt.

Retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a former Democrat who still caucuses with her old party, accused both Democrats and Republicans of engaging in “political theater” regarding President Joe Biden’s immigration and border security policies.

House Republicans warned that the bill would be “dead on arrival” if it reached them and urged the Senate to pass H.R. 2 instead.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has refused to consider the more stringent border security bill passed by the House last year.

A survey sponsored by a left-leaning organization showed that former President Donald Trump is leading Biden in several key states.

The data indicated that Biden is behind Trump in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada. The survey did not include North Carolina, another battleground state. Another report suggests that Biden is losing ground to Trump in battleground states and even in traditionally Democratic states.

According to a report by Puck News, Biden’s support has decreased, with 40% of the voters who supported him in 2020 now thinking he should leave the race.

In some states, Biden is trailing Trump by a significant margin. Despite the pressure from Democrats calling on him to drop out of the race, Biden remains defiant and has urged his party to come together and defeat Donald Trump.
