The Democrats are set to face a harsh reality in the 2022 midterm elections, and that reality is that people do not like the current direction of the United States.

Many experts believe that the Republicans will win back the House of Representatives, but there is also a significant chance that they can win control of the Senate too.

And a new poll shows that around half of voters in Arizona have an unfavorable opinion of Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, Just The News reported.

The Arizona Public Opinion Pulse poll shows 48% of those surveyed have an unfavorable opinion of Kelly and 41% have a favorable one.

Kelly was elected in November 2020 to complete the term of the late-GOP Sen. John McCain and faces reelection next year amid similar unfavorable polling for Democratic President Joe Biden and surveys that suggest Republicans gaining House and Senate seats and perhaps retaking control of Congress.

“With less than a year until he must face voters once again, results of this latest AZPOP survey could serve as a warning sign for Sen. Mark Kelly, as the freshman Democratic Senator’s favorable numbers are underwater by seven percentage points,” the poll summary said.

The poll was conducted during the first week of November with 713 registered voters participating and the margin of error is 3.7 percentage points.

“As President Biden faces his lowest approval ratings since taking office, voters are turning their frustration to Democratic candidates. That’s something Senator Kelly should keep in mind as he faces re-election in one of the country’s closest swing states,” OH Predictive Insights chief Mike Noble said.

Arizona is not a blue state and many disapprove of the fact that, unlike his fellow Democrat Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, Sen. Kelly has toed the party line.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee, realizing that Kelly is in for a tough fight, has begun a  new ad campaign against him.

“A border in crisis and out of control, greater insecurity in our communities, we are paying more for food and gasoline.  Everything is more expensive and going up. And now, he even wants to take away our rights as parents over our children’s education,” the ad says. “Mark Kelly has forgotten about Arizona’s working families.”

And the fact that polls are showing that Biden would be defeated by Trump if an election were held right now, it is not helping Sen. Kelly and others in 2022.

Other than the fact that Biden’s poll numbers are sinking like the Titanic, a new poll shows Trump would defeat him in a head to head match, The Washington Examiner reported.

Donald Trump boasts a double-digit lead over President Joe Biden in a new poll examining a potential 2024 rematch in Iowa.

The former president also leads Biden, who is facing low approval numbers eight months into his presidency, with support from independents, but Trump faces some warning signs in what could be a fight in Iowa’s first-in-the-nation Republican caucuses.

Trump prevailed in a face-off by 11 points, 51%-40%, among all likely Iowa voters, according to the results of a Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll released on Sunday. The other 9% was split among those who said they would not vote for either candidate or were not sure.

Trump defeated Biden in Iowa by 8 points, 53%-45%, just over a year ago in 2020.

And when it comes to independents Trump holds a commanding over Biden of 8 percentage point lead of 45%-37%.

“The poll was conducted by Selzer & Co., surveying 810 Iowa adults, including 658 likely voters, between Nov. 7 and 10. The survey has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3.4 percentage points among all Iowans, and 3.8 points among likely voters,” The Examiner said.

And, in what is more bad news for Biden, a recent poll shows that even Democrats want someone else at the head of the ticket.

An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National poll found that only 36% of Democrats want Biden to be on the 2024 presidential ticket.

In contrast, 44% want a different candidate on the ballot, and 20% weren’t sure.

The poll also found that 50% of Republicans agreed that they would have a better chance of winning the presidency if Donald Trump ran for a second term, while 35% preferred a different candidate, and 14% weren’t sure.

The poll also revealed just 44 percent of Americans approved of Biden’s performance as president and 49% disapproved.

To compare, 45% approved and 46% disapproved in the poll conducted in October.
