Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney appears to be finished, even if she does not know it yet.

A new poll shows the representative, who many conservatives call a RINO (Republican in Name Only) is 30 points behind her primary opponent Harriet Hageman, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, Breitbart reported.

Hageman garnered 56 percent support, while Cheney only earned 26 percent, a 30 percent difference.

The poll was conducted with 400 likely Republican primary voters in Wyoming from May 24-25. The margin of error is +4.9 percent.

A January straw poll revealed Hageman held a commanding lead over Cheney. The poll, conducted by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee via secret ballot, showed Hageman won 59 votes and Cheney six, a 53-point victory by Hageman.

The new polling data comes after Donald Trump announced he would hold a rally for Hageman on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Casper, Wyoming. Trump and Hageman will be joined at the rally by Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO). House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) will also make video appearances.

The former president appeared in Casper, Wyoming on Saturday for a rally where he tore into Cheney again.

“Worse than the terrible Democrats are the backstabbing RINO republicans that are helping them do their act,” he said. “And there is no RINO in America who has thrown in her lot with the radical left more than Liz Cheney.”

He referred to Cheney as a “lapdog for Pelosi and a human soundbite machine for CNN and MSDNC.”

“She has gone crazy,” he said. “Now I get it. I’ve been hearing these stories for years. Now I get it. She’s gone totally crazy.”

But he did not stop at Liz Cheney as he said the entire Cheney family had failed the nation.

“The Cheneys are die-hard globalists and warmongers that have been plunging us into new conflicts for decades, spilling American blood and spending American treasure all over the world,” he said before sharing a meme that added her face to that of former President George W. Bush.

“She’s the face of the Washington Swamp and the same failed foreign policy of the Clintons, Bushes, the Obamas, Bidens, and the entire sick political establishment,” the former president said.

He labelled Cheney an “atrocious RINO” who “hates the voters of the Republican Party, and he accused her of “loving endless nonsensical bloody horrible wars.”

He said that he talked to Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon who he met at the airport after landing in Wyoming where he offered him a hat.

“I’d rather not have the hat, I’d rather have Democrats not voting in the Republican primary,” he said the governor said. “I don’t need hats.”

Trump introduced Cheney’s challenger, Rep. Harriet Hageman, and called he a true representative of the state.

“I know Wyoming. I love Wyoming. I AM Wyoming,” she said to the crowd.

“I have fought for Wyoming, and I will fight for you in Washington, DC, and I will take that fight to D.C. as soon as I defeat Liz Cheney,” she said.

During an interview with The Washington Post, Trump said an unnamed congressman said that Cheney, one of only two GOP lawmakers serving on the panel, is a “crazed lunatic.”

“From what people tell me, from what I hear from other congressmen, she’s like a crazed lunatic, she’s worse than anyone else,” Trump said. “From what I’ve heard, she’s worse than any Democrat.”

It’s not likely she will ever admit it, but it appears as though Cheney’s biggest political mistake was taking on Trump.
