Alex Soros Endorses Kamala Harris

Alex Soros, the son of wealthy Democratic contributor George Soros, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 contest.

The 38-year-old Soros urged Democrats to unite and support Harris, calling her “the best and most qualified candidate we have.”

Due to his family’s political and charitable contributions, Alex, who recently took control of his father’s $25 billion investing company, wields significant influence within the Democratic Party.

Following Biden’s sudden exit from the race, Harris’ candidacy has gained momentum, and the endorsement from Soros this week has strengthened it further.

Soros praised Biden for his government achievements, calling him “an American hero” and “a patriot.” He also commended the president for choosing to step down and back Harris, his former running mate.

The support from the Soros family for Harris in her bid to become the next American president marks a significant shift in the political landscape. It is reported that progressive funders and activists, who have long admired the Soros family’s commitment to social justice initiatives, are likely to also support this move.

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama endorsed Harris on Friday morning.

In a video released across social media, the Obamas can be heard telling Harris they will support her.

I can’t have this phone call without saying to my girl Kamala: I am proud of you. This is going to be historic,” Michelle Obama said.

“We called to say Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” former President Obama said following his wife.

The former president then called Harris a “happy warrior.”

“It’s time for us to rally around you, your candidacy. This is not on you, it’s not just on you and Doug, it’s on all of us. … We’ve got to register, we’ve got to vote. … So, let’s all roll up our sleeves and make it happen,” the former first lady said in a statement.

Another new survey is good news for former President Donald Trump, just days after Biden dropped his reelection bid and endorsed Harris.

According to the CNN survey, 49 percent of respondents supported Trump, while 46 percent backed Harris. SSRS conducted the poll.

The poll was conducted between July 22-23, a few days after Biden announced he was abandoning his reelection bid. It was conducted among registered voters who had previously participated in CNN surveys in April and June, where Trump was leading Biden by 6 points.
