ABC’s “The View” hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar said Thursday that Americans who voted for President Donald Trump should “look in the mirror.”

Hostin claimed that Tuesday’s election had shown the true character of the American people, and both Hostin and Behar argued that people who had cast a ballot for Trump valued their own personal circumstances over the rights and welfare of others.

Hostin said that over 68 million Americans who voted for President Trump are “selfish” because they voted for someone who she says is racist, misogynistic, and homophobic.

“This conversation must be honest. I’m not saying that it has to be filled with name-calling, but it cannot be filled with lies,” Hostin began.

“This election showed us what the true character of many Americans is, and again, I’m not saying that if you voted for Trump that you are a racist, that you are a homophobe, that you are a sexist, that you are against transgender rights,” Hostin continued, adding, “But what I will say is that if you voted for Trump, you then did look the other way.”

Hostin went on to list several issues, from the ban on transgenders serving in the military and referring to certain African nations as “s**thole countries” to separating children from their families at the border, repeating, “If you voted for him, then all of those things are okay with you because of your own personal circumstance, and that is the discussion that has to be had. That is an honest discussion.”

Whoopi Goldberg weighed in, pointing out the fact that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden had already racked up more votes than any presidential candidate in history, unseating his former boss President Barack Obama.

“Joe Biden got — again, more votes than any other person in the history of running for president. What does that say?” she asked. “There’s more going on — yes. That’s my point, that there is more going on than we thought because we were given a narrative that changed.”

“A lot of people in this country need to have a come to Jesus moment and look in the mirror and see what they did,” Behar said then, agreeing with Hostin. “Again, we don’t call people names, but look in the mirror.”

“Did I vote because of my pocketbook and did I ignore the fact that children are being separated from their parents?” she asked. “Did I vote because of — I don’t want black people moving into the suburbs and ignore the fact that black people are always behind the eight ball in this country and can’t get a leg up because of my votes? People have to look in the mirror.”
