Jessica Tarlov, the lone liberal co-host of Fox News’ top-rated “The Five,” tried to insinuate that former President Donald Trump’s mental capacities are similar to those of President Joe Biden.
The panel was discussing an Axios report that said the White House has made some major adjustments to help prevent President Joe Biden from falling so much, such as changing to sneakers instead of dress shoes and using a shorter set of stairs to board Air Force One, the report said.
Tarlov responded by ticking off mistakes Trump has made within just the past 10 days, including when he “said you need an ID to buy bread. Has anyone shown ID to get Wonderbread lately?”
“He said that he ran against Obama in 2016. He ran against Hillary Clinton,” Tarlov continued. “He warned that Biden would get us into World War II, which I’m pretty sure we already fought and won. And yesterday, he confused Jeb Bush and George W. Bush and said Jeb got us involved in the Middle East.”
Tarlov then ripped what she described as Trump’s “authoritarian posts” on his Truth Social platform.
She noted that Trump hinted that outgoing Joint Chiefs chairman and Army Gen. Mark Milley was guilty of treason for consulting with the Chinese during the tumultuous post-2020 election period and said he threatened to investigate Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, NBC News, and MSNBC, if he won back the presidency.
“Can you imagine if Biden said, ‘You know what, I’m going to look into that Fox News? They don’t seem to like me over there,’” asked Tarlov.
“This may be the choice that people have. Trump versus Biden laid bare here,” co-host Martha MacCallum responded.
“At least Trump can say ‘LL Cool J,’” said Jesse Watters.

Republicans in the House are putting direct pressure on President Biden to undergo a cognitive test to demonstrate his suitability for office.
In a letter to the president, co-signed by 83 House Republicans—including House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik and Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler—Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, the former White House physician and chief medical adviser to former President Trump, contended that the president’s numerous public “gaffes” constitute a “national security concern.”
“Following the recent report from Special Counsel Robert Hur, we write to express our grave concerns with your current cognitive state and ability to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, including as Chief Executive, Head of State, and Commander in Chief,” the lawmakers wrote. “The President of the United States must demonstrate sound mental abilities, regardless of gender, age, or political party, which you have not.”
It happens at the same time that detractors of Biden are still focusing on a new special counsel Robert Hur report about the president’s handling of classified documents before taking office. Hur’s comprehensive 388-page report exonerated President Biden of any misconduct, even though he had “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials.”
Hur claimed that Biden appeared to be “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” and added that “it would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties-of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
Biden and his supporters have vehemently disagreed with Hur’s analysis and insisted that Biden’s age is not a factor.
“If your own Department of Justice claims you are too mentally impaired to stand trial, then we are concerned that your mental state is not at a competent level to serve as the leader of the free world,” the Republican lawmakers wrote to him. We thus urge you to participate in a cognitive screening test that has been clinically validated and to make the public aware of the results.”
This is Jackson’s fifth request of this kind. He claimed there was no response to his prior four questions.
“This is the fifth time we’ve sent a letter to the White House demanding Biden take a cognitive exam, however, while the administration has chosen to ignore each of these requests, it is becoming clearer each day that the President is not cognitively fit,” Jackson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “I am proud to be joined by Conference Chairwoman Stefanik, Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler, and dozens of my House colleagues in this effort.”
“Over the past three years, your mental decline and forgetfulness have become even more apparent,” the GOP lawmakers wrote in their letter. When you make public appearances both at home and abroad, it is not unusual to witness you shuffle your feet, stumble while walking, slur your words, forget names, lose your train of thought, and look disoriented or sleepy.”
They cited Biden’s recent confusion of French President Emmanuel Macron with a predecessor who passed away decades earlier, as well as his name-guessing of German leaders and his mispronunciation of the Egyptian president as the Mexican president.
“While the prevalence of your ‘gaffes’ continues to increase and creates a serious national security concern, President Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party continue to modernize their military at an alarming rate while showing a clear indication of an intent to invade Taiwan in the near future,” the letter continued.
“Unfortunately, we fear that your perceived cognitive deterioration is inviting Beijing to take this military action, as there is significant doubt surrounding your ability to execute the duties required of the President of the United States and prevent further global conflicts from arising or escalating.”
