A group of judges in Texas has had enough of the inaction from the Biden administration and ‘border czar’ Vice President Kamala Harris following nearly a year-and-half of record numbers of migrants crossing illegally into the state.

According to a report by The Center Square, several of them are preparing to declare an invasion Tuesday afternoon at an event to be held at the Kinney County Civic Center in Brackettville, though the public was not invited.

The report noted:

Leading the judges is Kinney County Judge Tully Shahan, who was the first judge to issue a disaster declaration last year over the negative impacts of illegal immigration on his county, prompting other judges to also issue similar declarations. Gov. Greg Abbott later issued a disaster declaration for multiple counties as well.

Kinney County Attorney Brent Smith also has requested that the governor and Attorney General Ken Paxton take steps to act under Article 1 of the Constitution, as have conservative leaders in the state.

“Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps left by the Biden Administration’s refusal to secure the border,” Abbott said last week of the operation’s achievements, according to Bethany Blankley of The Center Square.

“Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Biden’s open border policies,” Abbott continued, the outlet reported.

Border states have been dealing with a crush of illegal migrants since President Joe Biden signed executive orders on his first day in office overturning most of former President Donald Trump’s immigration and border enforcement policies.

And for more than a year, border state officials have been pressuring the administration to do more to shore up security along the boundary with Mexico.

Harris herself, however, has also been singled out for much of the criticism since Biden placed her in charge of dealing with the issue in March 2021.

That said, the vice president lashed out at Abbott in an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation” last month after she was asked what the administration intended to do in response to Abbott’s order to state law enforcement officials to begin rounding up illegal migrants and send them to federal border crossing stations.

“I would suggest that so-called leaders focus on solutions instead of attacks if they really are concerned about a problem, and that includes on the issue of immigration,” Harris responded.

She then took a thinly veiled jab at Trump, who she claimed created and left a “badly broken” immigration system — despite the fact that under his policies, the border became much more stable and illegal immigration fell to near-record-low levels.

She then maintained that the only way forward is “passing a pathway for citizenship” for illegal migrants, an oft-repeated Democratic talking point.

“So that we can have a humane and appropriate approach to this issue, including of course, what we will continue to do in terms of prioritizing border security, but understanding we also need to create a pathway,” she told CBS.

“And that’s where I think everyone should be focused if they’re actually concerned about solutions, instead of flame-throwing,” she added.
