One of the most far-left co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” had something positive to say about former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie that will most likely tank him even further with a majority of GOP voters as his polling numbers continue to sink as he continues to run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Joy Behar said something during a podcast last month in an interview with the show’s executive producer, Brian Teta, for an episode of “The View: Behind the Table” as they discussed the premier of the 27th season of the program, as well as fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg contracting COVID again, when the subject turned to the approaching election cycle.

“The election is heating up now. We’re into it in a way that we haven’t been in the last two seasons. Who do you want to talk to coming up on this season? Who are you excited about having in there?” Teta asked, according to Mediaite.

“I want to talk to all those Republicans who were in that debate, and I have questions for them,” Behar said. “I want to say to Chris Christie, ‘Sir, you have been a champion to the left right now because you have told the truth about Donald Trump.’

“So when they asked you, would you vote for him, why were you hesitant in raising your hand? Why don’t you just raise your damn hand and say, I’m going to vote for him if that’s what you believe? That won’t please me, but that’s the truth. Then do it,” she continued.

She went on to say that all the other candidates save for former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchison, who is polling in the basement with GOP voters, raised their hand to say they would support Trump if he becomes the nominee.

“Even after we know that he has committed all these crimes, that he is an insurrectionist, that he is trying to overthrow this government, that he is doing something that no president has ever done before, that he’s the only president that has a mugshot, for Christ’s sakes,” Behar added.

“And yet they said they would vote for him. That is pathetic and really unacceptable. Unforgivable. And I want them on this show,” Behar said.

In fact, Trump has only been charged at this point; nothing has been proven. And even at that, a number of legal experts believe the vast majority of charges are motivated by politics, not hard-and-fast evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

Previously, Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany of “Outnumbered” riffed on Christie for his praise of FBI Director Christopher Wray following testimony on Capitol Hill in which Wray was grilled about several cases the bureau was handling that, again, appeared aimed at Americans with conservative and religious views and values.

Christie, a former federal prosecutor known for frequently criticizing McEnany’s former boss, lauded the Biden Justice Department and the FBI, despite their unprecedented targeting of Trump, who is also President Biden’s leading political opponent heading into next year’s presidential election.

Earlier on Fox News, Christie said in reference to FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony before a House committee earlier in the day: “I did recommend him to President Trump, and I’m proud that I did.”

“Those things they’re talking about today, and the director made this point over and over again, are all things from when Jim Comey, Eric Holder, and Loretta Lynch were in charge of the Justice Department — before he got put in charge,” Christie said. “He fired the entire Comey leadership team out of the FBI, they’re all gone.”

“Is it all fixed? Of course, it’s not all fixed. Jim Comey and Eric Holder, and Loretta Lynch drastically harmed the Department of Justice and the FBI. And Chris Wray has now spent years fixing that,” Christie added. “What you saw today was an animated and combative FBI director who is defending the men and women who work for him… and do a great job…”

He added: “So yeah, I think Chris Wray has done a very good job, and I think a lot of the stuff you see today is theater, people trying to raise money for campaigns.”

After Christie’s recent defense of Wray, McEnany said during a segment on “Outnumbered” that it won’t win over many Republicans, let alone supporters of Trump.

“Best of luck to Chris Christie with that message in a GOP primary, which has tremendous distrust for the FBI,” she said.
