Senator Dianne Feinstein Wants To Mandate Masks

The heavy arm of the state is bearing down on American citizens and standing at the front of the pack is California Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

The 87-year-old senator, because term limits should be a thing but are not, said that she wants to ban states who do not mandate the wearing of masks, from getting stimulus funds, Fox News reported.

And we get it, masks help stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus. And in my house, you are not coming in if you are not wearing one. I have made that personal choice for safety.

But this is still America and we do still have a Constitution and to start mandating face coverings the way they do in the Middle East is not going to work for the majority of citizens.

The octogenarian senator said she will issue an amendment to a forthcoming coronavirus relief package that will deny funds to states that do not mandate the wearing of masks.

“In the last two weeks, 41 states saw an increase in coronavirus cases, with a total of 3.5 million infected nationwide. California, Florida and New York each topped 300,000 cases, and Texas will soon follow. We’ve seen 60,000 new cases in five of the last six days. We’re failing to control this virus and it’s time for serious action,” the senator said on her website.

“Research shows that masks reduce transmission of the coronavirus. CDC Director Redfield said this surge in COVID-19 cases could end within two months if we adopt ‘universal masking.’ Businesses like Walmart, Kohl’s and Kroger now require masks. And countries that are successfully controlling this virus require masks. So why doesn’t the United States have a national mask mandate?

“Wearing masks in public should be mandatory. Period. Leader McConnell said the Senate will take up the next coronavirus economic relief bill later this month. At that time, I intend to offer an amendment to prohibit sending funds to states that haven’t adopted a statewide mask requirement.

“The situation is getting worse daily. Several states including California, Alabama and Montana already require masks in public. This should be universal. My hope has been that other governors would show the leadership to institute their own mask mandates, but so far that hasn’t happened. It’s time for Congress to step in. This is a matter of life or death, and partisan politics shouldn’t play a role,” she said.

Currently 28 states and the District of Columbia have some type of mask wearing mandate because the coronavirus spreads via respiratory droplets that can be transmitted when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, who said months ago that masks would  not help stop the spread of the virus, now wants states to be “as forceful as possible” in mandating them.

“I would urge the leaders — the local political and other leaders — in states and cities and towns to be as forceful as possible in getting your citizenry to wear masks,” he said this week.

A video on Instagram shows police being extremely forceful, as they give a man a $110 ticket for not wearing one.

This young man right here in Florida was on the phone with his mama. Just calling his mom and cop gives him a ticket because he’s not wearing the mask just right. I’m not really sure how much more I can handle watching this and reporting on this. In all my years of covering the news whether it be for a top website now or back in my blogging days, this breaks my heart. Where is the outrage? Anyone want to join me for a protest because I’m ready? And yes. I covered the Black Lives Matter protests as well. Do you understand that this ticket is over $100 for this young man and he explains that’s a lot of money. Especially during a pandemic. And he really didn’t want to sign the citation but they said then they would take him in and arrest him. What is becoming of America? What has become of our society? Isn’t there enough shit going on in the world that because he moved his mask slightly so his mom could hear him that they could cut him a break? And he was so kind. He was so polite and he was raised right. Tears stream down my face and I don’t know how much longer I can cover watching us go from a free society, or at least a little bit free to a draconian Orwellian nightmare that looks like it’s going to start sounding more like 1940s Germany by the day. They have hired an entire small force of 39 cops just in the Miami area to be mask police. I’m not even making this shit up. And they’re doing it in Fort Lauderdale and there was a mandate that people have to have masks on in their own homes. If they have guests etc. What next? Bill Gates? He’s already working on it. A vaccine mandate? I fear for the future of our country. #BlackLivesMatter #BlackLives #HolisticLives #HealthNutNews #ErinElizabeth #ICannotTagAnymore.

“Practically, when you’re living your life and trying to open up a country, you are going to come into contact with people, and for that reason we know that masks are really important and we should be using them, everyone,” the doctor said.

President Donald Trump’s administration has so far decided to leave the decision on mandating masks to individual states rather than issuing a federal mandate.

“We leave it to localities to make the decisions with regard to face coverings, and the CDC guidelines remain the same today: recommended, but not required,” White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said this week.

Again, we are not advising you to not wear a mask. Science shows that the wearing of masks significantly diminishes the chance of infection.

But the question for many is, if the government can mandate this what else can it mandate in the future?
