Former President Donald Trump just got a bit of good news after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida earlier this week.
A brand new poll reveals that more than 80 percent of Republican voters said the raid made them “more motivated” to vote in the 2022 election.
A Trafalgar Group and Convention of States Action survey found that 71.7 percent of Independent respondents said that the raid increased their drive to vote.
“Independent and Republican voters are united in their outrage about this unprecedented and tragic event in American history,” Meckler said in a statement about the poll results. “This gestapo-style injustice has created a voting surge that is so significant, the polling doesn’t even begin to reflect what is coming from grassroots voters in November.”
Below are some of the survey’s main findings, via Newsweek:
Overall, more respondents (47.9 percent) said that they believed “Trump’s political enemies” were behind the raid in comparison to those who said that the “impartial justice system” was responsible (39.7 percent). Another 12.4 percent said that they weren’t sure.
A large majority of Republicans (76.7 percent) believe that Trump’s political enemies were responsible for the raid, while just 11.9 percent of Democrats gave the same answer.
Another 70.5 percent of Democrats said that they believed the impartial justice system was behind the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Among, independent respondents, 53.9 percent said that Trump’s enemies were responsible and 35.3 percent said that it was the impartial justice system.
Soon after Monday’s raid, Eric Trump announced on Truth Social that Donald Trump is raking in the donations, likely in anticipation of a sooner-rather-than-later announcement he will run again for the White House in 2024.
“Breaking: DonaldJTrump.com is shattering all fundraising records and I’m told has raised more money in the past 24 hours than ever before in recent history! The American people are pissed!” Eric Trump posted.
Trump also addressed the search on his Truth Social platform.
“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” he said.
“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections,” he added. “Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.”
Fox News host Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, blasted the Biden administration for the raid.
“This is some third-world bullshit right here,” a furious Bongino told fellow Fox host Jesse Watters. “Let me say it again, third-world bullshit. I mean every word of that. I don’t care that it’s cable news.
“I was a federal agent, I raised my right hand. And I swore to protect and defend the constitution of the United States. And I love this country. This is a freaking disgrace. A disgrace. We don’t live in Cuba. We don’t live under Kim Jong Un” of North Korea, he continued.
Trump responded just hours after the attorney general held a press conference in which he said that the Department of Justice would seek to have the warrant for the search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago house shared with the media and the American public.
“Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago, I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents, even though they have been drawn up by radical left Democrats and possible future political opponents, who have a strong and powerful vested interest in attacking me, much as they have done for the last 6 years,” the former president said.
“My poll numbers are the strongest they have ever been, fundraising by the Republican Party is breaking all records, and midterm elections are fast approaching. This unprecedented political weaponization of law enforcement is inappropriate and highly unethical. The world is watching as our Country is being brought to a new low, not only on our border, crime, economy, energy, national security, and so much more, but also with respect to our sacred elections!” he said.
He ended his email to supporters by saying, “Release the documents now!”
