President Donald Trump is done messing around with those who are exploiting the death of George Floyd to riot, loot, and break the law.
The president took to Twitter this week and encouraged state and local leaders to arrest vandals who target statues on Federal property.
“I have authorized the Federal Government to arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S. with up to 10 years in prison, per the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act, or such other laws that may be pertinent…This action is taken effective immediately, but may also be used retroactively for destruction or vandalism already caused. There will be no exceptions!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s Tuesday tweets follow a night where rioters tried to pull down a statue of former President Andrew Jackson and set up a “Black House Autonomous Zone” near the White House.
Rioter’s attempts at both activities were prevented by authorities.
Things have gotten so crazy that Washington, D.C.’s congressional delegate, Eleanor Holmes Norton, said she will introduce legislation to remove a “problematic” statue of Abraham Lincoln from D.C.’s Lincoln Park on Capitol Hill.
Lincoln freed the slaves, but now he is apparently “too problematic” for liberals.
“Although formerly enslaved Americans paid for this statue to be built in 1876, the design and sculpting process was done without their input and it shows,” Holmes Norton said in a statement. “The statue fails to note in any way how enslaved African Americans pushed for their own emancipation.”
The president also wants those who burn the American flag to be held accountable.
During his rally Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the president argued that it should be against the law to burn the American flag and that anyone caught doing so should go to jail.
Trump told the crowd that Congress should take up legislation — that would also require a Constitutional Amendment — to make burning the American flag a criminal act punishable by one year in prison.
“Two days ago, leftist radicals in Portland, Oregon, ripped down a statue of George Washington and wrapped it in an American flag and set the American flag on fire,” Trump said.
“And you know, we ought to do something, Mr. Senators… we ought to come up with legislation that if you burn the American flag, you go to jail for one year,” Trump said.
“We should have legislation that if somebody wants to burn the American flag and stomp on it, but just burn it, they go to jail for one year,” he continued.

Last year, Trump supported legislation by Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines that would prohibit flag burning by passing a constitutional amendment.
Unsurprisingly, the legislation has not gone anywhere and is just sitting in Congress.
