A former White House official who served during then-President Donald Trump’s term has made a startling revelation regarding his handling of classified materials during his term.

According to an exclusive report by CNN, the unnamed White House official said that Trump was not only familiar with the process of declassifying documents while in office, but he tended to follow the processes as well.

“The former career official, who was in charge of advising the Trump and Obama administrations on the declassification process, is the only known witness to be interviewed by both teams of prosecutors investigating Trump and” President Joe Biden, CNN reported, noting that Biden is also under a special counsel probe for his possession of classified documents.

“Speaking to CNN on condition of anonymity, the former official said he told federal prosecutors that Trump knew the proper process for declassifying documents and followed it correctly,” the report added.

Several people have come to Trump’s defense following news that he was indicted on seven counts by the Justice Department on Thursday.

“There does seem to be far higher interest in pursuing Trump compared to other people in politics,” Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted Thursday night. He added: “Very important that the justice system rebut what appears to be differential enforcement or they will lose public trust.”

Greg Jarrett, Fox News legal analyst, also destroyed Attorney General Merrick Garland over his decision to allow the former president to be charged.

“It’s two systems of justice; one for Donald Trump and one for everybody else. Merrick Garland, the attorney general, is criminalizing a civil dispute over documents that’s governed exclusively by civil statutes, the Presidential Records Act,” he began during a Thursday evening interview with Sean Hannity.

“That act means anything created during a presidency, whether it’s classified or not, can be maintained by a former president, period. But instead of seeking an injunction, let’s say, or production of records in a civil court, and let a judge hash it out,” he continued. “Garland chose to bastardize the law by raiding Trump’s home and then seeking an indictment today. And it didn’t matter that Trump was following the very same standard established by the Department of Justice itself a decade ago in the Bill Clinton case, who kept classified documents.

“That was a standard endorsed by a federal court in Washington. The president can keep what he wants, but Garland didn’t like that, and he doesn’t care about the law,” Jarrett said. “So he abandoned his own precedent because it’s Donald Trump. This is selective prosecution. It is unequal justice. Yeah, it’s okay for Hillary to mishandle classified documents. No charges for Joe Biden to do the same. But if Donald Trump does it, it’s a high crime.”

Meanwhile, Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz warned of the “dangerous” consequences of the federal charges against Trump. He argued the indictment’s “weak” appearance does not meet historical precedent.

“It has to be at least as strong as the case against Richard Nixon, which we will remember led not to Democrats to demand his resignation, but Republicans, his own colleagues came to him and said, this case is so strong that we can’t support you,” Dershowitz said on “Mornings with Maria” Friday.

“I haven’t seen any suggestion that Republicans agree with this indictment,” he added.

“If this indictment is as weak as it appears to be, from what has been disclosed so far, it may be the most dangerous indictment in political history,” Dershowitz continued.

“As everybody knows, it’s the first time that a man who is the leading candidate against the incumbent president has been indicted by the incumbent administration in an effort to prevent him from running,” he noted further.
