President Donald Trump has his guns blazing and taking aim at the backstabbers who have continued to attack him.
On Sunday former Secretary of State Colin Powell joined establishment Republicans in announcing that he would not be supporting President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
Unlike many other Republicans, like former President George W. Bush and former Sen. Jeff Flake, Powell endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden.
“Colin Powell, a real stiff who was very responsible for getting us into the disastrous Middle East Wars, just announced he will be voting for another stiff, Sleepy Joe Biden. Didn’t Powell say that Iraq had’ ‘weapons of mass destruction?’ They didn’t, but off we went to WAR!” he said.
“Somebody please tell highly overrated Colin Powell that I will have gotten almost 300 Federal Judges approved (a record), Two Great Supreme Court Justices, rebuilt our once depleted Military, Choice for Vets, Biggest Ever Tax & Regulation Cuts, Saved Healthcare & 2A, & much more!” he said.
Powell was interviewed by CNN anchor Jake Tapper on the show “State of the Union” when he endorsed the Democratic presidential candidate.
“We have a Constitution. And we have to follow that Constitution. And the President has drifted away from it,” Powell, a retired general said.
“I’m very close to Joe Biden on a social matter and on a political matter. I worked with him for 35, 40 years, and he is now the candidate and I will be voting for him,”
Powell said that he does not believe that President Trump has been ineffective as president and that he “lies all the time.”
“What we have to do now is reach out to the whole people, watch these demonstrations, watch these protests, and rather than curse them, embrace them to see what it is we have to do to get out of the situation that we find ourselves in now,” he said. “We’re America, we’re Americans, we can do this. We have the ability to do it, and we ought to do it. Make America not just great, but strong and great for all Americans, not just a couple,” CNN reported.
Last week, Trump’s former Defense Secretary, James Mattis, said in a blistering statement that Trump “does not even pretend to try” to unite the country and is instead engaged in a “deliberate effort” to divide the country, while lacking “mature leadership.” And former White House chief of staff John Kelly said Friday that he agreed with Mattis’ assessment and that he thinks there’s an “awful big concern that the partisanship has gotten out of hand, the tribal thing has gotten out of hand.”
Asked by Tapper if he agreed specifically with Mattis’ comments, Powell doubled down on his criticism of Trump.
“You have to agree with it. I mean, look at what he has done to divide us,” the former Secretary of State said. “I agree with all of my former colleagues.”
Former President George W. Bush, Se. Mitt Romney and Powell do not support President Trump because is dismantling the rigged system they benefit from. More proof that President Trump is on our side.
