Former President Donald Trump used several common food and household items as props during a press conference on Thursday at his golf resort in Bedminster, N.J., to highlight the dramatically increased cost of living under the Biden-Harris administration.

“Donald Trump did in 90 minutes Thursday what Republicans have craved in the weeks since the Democrats pulled their historic switcheroo and put Kamala Harris atop their ticket: Trump defined succinctly what separates him from his fall election opponent,” Just the News’ John Solomon reported.

Using familiar food props found on every American’s kitchen table, the former president’s press conference illustrated the true cost of the Biden-Harris economic agenda for ordinary Americans and highlighted why elitists fail to understand the real impact of inflation, Solomon noted.

“Grocery prices have skyrocketed,” Trump said, rattling off official government statistics that show cereals are up 26%, bread up 24%, butter up 37%, baby formula up 30% and eggs up 46%. “How can a family afford that?”

Staying with the kitchen table theme, Solomon’s report said he even gave a rare glimpse into his personal side by humorously admitting that he used to prefer Cheerios for breakfast, though he hasn’t had them in a while.

At various moments, Trump shared folksy yet genuine stories about his interactions with global leaders during his first term. He pointedly and entertainingly reminded Americans that, amid significant insecurity both at home and abroad, he brings experience and a résumé that Kamala Harris lacks.

Stories featuring names like Putin, Netanyahu, and Xi moved to the top of voters’ minds after 24 straight days of Harris ducking unscripted interviews and news conferences.

The 45th president then asked rhetorically, “If the vice president isn’t willing to even answer reporters, how can she answer the taunts and threats of global tyrants like Vladimir Putin or the Iranian mullahs? People don’t respect her in the world. People don’t respect her in the economy.”

He also held Harris accountable for the current state of the vice presidency, which has led the majority of Americans to believe that the country is heading in the wrong direction.

“Harris has just declared that tackling inflation will be a ‘Day One priority’ for her,” Trump noted. “But Day One for Kamala was three and a half years ago.” Despite her attempts to distance herself from the failures of “Bidenomics,” conservative critics have swiftly pointed out that Harris not only praised Bidenomics as “working” but also publicly positioned herself to take credit for those policies, the report said.

Popular conservative blog HotAir posted: “A mere year ago, her rhetoric was chock full of ‘when President Biden and I took office, we decided…’ The ‘we’s’ and the ‘I’s’ abound through this brag session.” The site then linked to a damning video clip of Harris’ taking credit for Bidenomics.

To the millions of legal immigrants who fled communism and socialism from Eastern Europe to Latin America, Trump also transformed some of Kamala Harris’s recent proposals into liabilities. This included her plan, released just hours earlier on Thursday, to impose price caps on Medicare drugs and services.

“The Radical Left person wants to put price controls all over the place, which will end up driving up your prices, not down,” he said.

“She’s running on the Maduro plan. We call it the plan, like something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union,” he said, referencing the dictator in Venezuela who has been accused of rigging the latest election in his favor.

“She wants to change a free enterprise type country into a communist type country,” he said, as Solomon noted further that “man on the street interviews” over the past several months have found that argument resonates with migrants who have fled such nations.
