Trump Shooter Had Explosive Materials Inside Auto, Home: Report

Law enforcement authorities and officials say they discovered explosive materials in the vehicle and at the home of the now-deceased man suspected of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a rally last week in Pennsylvania.

CNN, quoting “multiple law enforcement sources,” reported that the “FBI has publicly identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Authorities say he fired multiple shots from a building rooftop just outside the rally venue before he was killed by Secret Service agents.”

Meanwhile, a headline previously posted by far-left news outlet CNN outraged supporters of former President Trump following what is reported to have been an attempt on his life.

Trump was nearly killed during a rally in Butler, Pa., last Saturday in what the FBI is calling an assassination attempt. A bullet grazed the former president’s right ear, causing him to fall to the ground, where several Secret Service agents immediately covered him.

A CNN headline followed shortly afterward: “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally.”

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), seized on the grossly underwhelming and misleading headline on the X platform: “Even in a horrifying moment such a this they just can’t help themselves.”

“The media is evil,” another X user wrote. “Sick bastards,” said another.

Added another: “Scum of the earth. All of them.”

The FBI has officially determined that the shooting attack on former President Donald Trump shortly after his rally in Butler, Pa., began Saturday afternoon as an “assassination attempt,” but the bureau does not yet have a motive.

Former first lady Melania Trump has also issued a statement following her husband’s narrow escape from death.

“I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans. We have always been a unique union. America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered, but our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one,” she said. “When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change.

“I am grateful to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” she added.

“A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald’s passion – his laughter, ingenuity, love of music, and inspiration,” she wrote. “The core facets of my husband’s life – his human side – were buried below the political machine. Donald, the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times.”

She then called on all involved to lower their tone and end the hateful rhetoric. “This morning, ascend above the hate, the vitriol, and the simple-minded ideas that ignite violence,” she intoned.

Former first daughter Ivanka Trump also issued a statement that tugged at hearts following the attempt on her father’s life.

“Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and for the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country. I love you Dad, today and always,” she said on X, formerly Twitter.

Another former first daughter, Tiffany Trump, added: “The outpouring of love and support for my dad is deeply appreciated. Thank you God for keeping my father alive. Political violence is never the answer. God bless the secret service and law enforcement who fearlessly intervened. Please include the families of the victims in your prayers. As you saw today, my father is a fighter and he will continue to fight for you and the USA.”
