Trump Jokes With Fox’s Doocy During Discussion Of Mystery Drones

President-elect Donald Trump had some fun with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday during a discussion about the mystery drones that were seen throughout New Jersey for months.

At one point, Trump implied that he knew what the drones were and that the Biden-Harris administration also knew what they were, going on to suggest that shortly after he officially took office, he would reveal details about them to the American people.

But during that exchange, Trump joked with Doocy about the ace Fox reporter’s previous exchanges with President Joe Biden.

“Peter, thank you very much. Does Biden do — I mean, does he do this kind of a news conference?” Trump, who was seated with Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R), asked.

“This is — this is my longest-ever interview of a president,” Doocy responded playfully.

“Yeah, well, the longest ever before this was one question, and they would rush you out of the room, right? But we have — we have nothing to hide,” Trump responded.

Trump indicated last month as well that the government knows about the drones.

Speaking from Mar-a-Lago, the 47th president-elect spoke alongside SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son, where they announced SoftBank’s plans to invest $100 billion in the United States over the next four years.

After the announcement, Trump took questions from reporters in the room and was eventually asked about “unidentified objects” as well as what he thought about them.

“The government knows what is happening,” Trump said when asked about the report of “drones” flying over New Jersey. “Look, our military knows where they took off from. If it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went. And for some reason, they don’t want to comment.”

“I think they’d be better off saying what it is our military knows and what our president knows,” Trump continued, suggesting a lack of transparency at the highest levels of the U.S. government. “And for some reason, they want to keep people in suspense.”

“I can’t imagine it’s the enemy because it was the enemy that blasted out. Even if they were late, they’d blast it,” he added, pouring cold water on previous claims that they were part of an operation conducted by a foreign enemy. He added, “Something strange is going on. For some reason, they don’t want to tell the people, and they should because the people are really, I mean, they happen to be over Bedminster,” his golf course in New Jersey.

“We know that. We are very … they’re very close to Bedminster. I think maybe I won’t spend the weekend in Bedminster. I’ve decided to cancel my trip,” he quipped.

“Have you received an intelligence briefing on the drones?” Trump was asked.

“I don’t want to comment on that,” he replied.

Earlier, Son said his “confidence level” in the US economy has “tremendously increased with [Trump’s] victory,” adding, “Because of that – I am committing $100 billion and 100,000 jobs into the United States. This is double of last time… because President Trump is a double-down president.”

Trump said the investment was evidence of “monumental confidence in America’s future.” He then playfully encouraged Son to invest $200 billion, who chuckled and said that he would try.
