If the Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance and New York Attorney General Letitia James thought they were going to frighten Donald Trump they just learned a harsh lesson.
Trump is not frightened of anyone, and he showed that when he called out the indictments against his organization as the political hatchet job many believe they are.
“Radical Left New York City and state prosecutors who have allowed crime to skyrocket … are now outrageously and shamefully continuing the greatest witch hunt. That’s what they do,” he said at his Sarasota, Florida rally on Saturday night. “They go and target me.”
“It’s reminiscent of a communist dictatorship targeting your political opponents … fabricating charges to try and silence them, abusing the justice system, and leaking out information on a daily basis in the press to engage in flagrant character assassination,” the 4th President of the United States said.
He said it was “unprecedented, unheard of, and totally unacceptable in America for prosecutors to run for office on a promise to ‘get’ their political enemies,” he said about another prosecutor in New York, likely Attorney General Letitia James, said, “We’re going to get Trump.”
“She knows nothing about me,” he said. “All she knows is she’s going to ‘get’ me, from the day she got in.”
He said that the New York prosecutors’ efforts were “fascist and authoritarian.”
“The people who talk about democracy are literally destroying it before our very eyes,” he said.
“The radical left continues to search for a crime and wreck lives, break laws, violate every principle of justice, fairness, and liberty,” Trump said. “It’s really called prosecutorial misconduct. It’s a terrible, terrible thing. There’s no depth to which the radical left will not sink to stop our Make America Great Again movement.”
“They go after good, hard-working people for not paying taxes on a company car. ‘You didn’t pay tax on the car! Or a company apartment!’ You used an apartment because you need an apartment because you have to travel too far where your house is, you didn’t pay tax, or education for your grandchildren. I don’t even know. Do you have to… does anybody know the answer to that stuff? Okay? But they indict people for that!” he said.
And the fact is that, like it or not, Trump is correct. The New York state attorney general campaigned on a promise to get Trump, and even The New York Times admitted it.
She calls him an “illegitimate president.” She says her decision to run for attorney general was largely “about that man in the White House who can’t go a day without threatening our fundamental rights.”
She has suggested that Mr. Trump could be charged with obstruction of justice, and implied that foreign governments channeled money to Mr. Trump’s family’s real estate holdings, which she characterized as a “pattern and practice of money laundering.”
And all one has to do is look at her Twitter history to see the pattern and the vendetta against Trump.
“Proud to stand with these members of Congress who are supporting my campaign for Attorney General because they know I’m the toughest and best suited to take on Donald Trump and protect all New Yorkers,” she said in one campaign tweet.

“As the next Attorney General of New York I will be a voice for the powerless and take on President Trump,” she said in another.

“Here’s what @realDonaldTrump needs to know: — Like Shirley Chisholm I’m unbought & unbossed — I’ve spent my career standing up to bullies — I’ve got my eyes on Trump Tower,” she said in still another Trump obsessed tweet.
"…the race is on Trump’s mind, & he has asked allies in New York for opinions about the candidates…"

“Nobody is above the law, not even @realDonaldTrump. Forcing the nation’s top law enforcement official to resign doesn’t give him a free pass—it only raises suspicions. I want NYers to know I‘ll hold those in power accountable & make sure the Special Counsel’s work continues,” she said.

And the media wants us to believe this is not a political hit job? The evidence is there for anyone to see.
