The Trump Media and Technology Group has announced a major access expansion for the company’s first offering, Truth Social.

As of now, the platform can only be reached via an app, and only for Apple products, as there is no app for Android devices yet. But that is about to change.

According to Just the News, very soon the platform will be reachable via the Web, like Twitter, which will open it up to millions more users.

Over the weekend, Truth Social urged potential customers to sign up for the soon-to-be-released Web app.

“Want a sneak preview of the brand new Truth Social Web App? Sign up here for the chance to beta test from any device,” said an announcement from the platform to customers with a signup link. “While we won’t be able to accommodate everyone, we’ll do our best to add as many interested users as possible.”

Just the News continued:

Truth Social first launched earlier this year on the Apple iOS smart phone platform, but Trump Media and Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes told Just the News last month that the Web app would provide a major expansion to customers who use Android or Microsoft smart devices or prefer desktop and laptop computers for their social media activities.

“Right now we’re on Apple. And we’re shortly we’re going to be coming out so you can access it anywhere on the web,” Nunes noted.

“So no matter what kind of device you have, you’re gonna be able to access that on the web. We just want to make sure … that we’re not only high quality but also very reliable,” he added.

It isn’t clear what the actual launch date is for the Web app, but it appears to be sooner rather than later.

The TMTG announced last fall it was creating a new social media platform called TRUTH Social designed to “fight back against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley.”

“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced,” Trump said in a press release. “This is unacceptable.”

A beta version of the platform was made available to invited guests in November. Earlier this year as the beta testing continued, others who wanted to join were given access and a waiting number before being on-loaded, a process that took months for most.

“TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all,” Trump said. “I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech.”

In April, Truth Social moved to servers hosting the Rumble video platform while announcing that it would soon onboard fans who have been waiting to join the platform.

The platform “has completed a migration to a massive cloud computing infrastructure run by the video giant Rumble, clearing the way for the social platform started by former President Donald Trump to onboard millions of users quickly,” Just the News reported at the time, adding:

The partnership between two of the nation’s emerging free speech platforms — completed this week — means Truth Social will be ending its beta testing and controlled account creation and moving quickly to erase a backlog of consumers who have been waiting a few weeks to join the platform.

“Truth Social and Rumble took a major stride toward rescuing the internet from the grip of the Big Tech tyrants,” said Nunes, a former GOP congressman from California who took over as CEO in January.

“Our team is working around the clock, they continue to work around the clock, we continue to let more and more people on every single hour,” he said.

“Our teams have worked tirelessly to realize this great endeavor,” Nunes added. “Rumble’s cloud infrastructure is second to none and will be the backbone for the restoration of free speech online for ages to come.”

Last week, TMTG announced it was hiring content producers and other staff ahead of the launch of a “non-woke” streaming service TMTG+.

According to the advertisement, the streaming service plans to offer a range of programming, some of which is original and some brought in from elsewhere, like existing platforms.

“Trump Media & Technology Group’s streaming video on-demand service will be a ‘Big Tent’ platform offering broad-based entertainment rooted in free speech,” it says. “The American public is seeking ‘non-woke’ entertainment, and TMTG+ will provide content for all to enjoy.

“In addition to the social media platform Truth Social, our SVOD platform TMTG+ will be the home for a wide variety of non-scripted, scripted, and original content,” it adds.
