Former President Donald Trump’s super PAC announced on Friday that it plans major investments in key congressional races ahead of the crucial midterm elections as candidates make their final pitches to voters.

Trump’s newly-formed MAGA Inc. super PAC has pledged to spend millions of dollars in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Arizona, according to the ad tracking firm AdImpact, The Associated Press reported. Also, the PAC will be making additional investments in Georgia and Nevada, according to a person familiar with the plan.

The report added: On Friday, the super PAC booked $1 million worth of airtime in Arizona, with ads set to begin airing Saturday, according to AdImpact. That follows reservations of $1.34 million in Ohio and $829,000 in Pennsylvania placed Thursday, AdImpact said in a tweet.

MAGA Inc. spokesman Steven Cheung declined to say how much additional spending Trump had planned beyond the initial reservations. “We’re not going to telegraph our spending but it’s a significant buy,” he said.

The super PAC’s first two ads are negative spots aimed at turning voters off the Democratic rivals of Trump-endorsed candidates. The first attacks Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman, who is running against Republican nominee Mehmet Oz, by portraying Fetterman as soft on crime.

“John Fetterman wants ruthless killers, muggers and rapists back on our streets,” the ad charges, labeling the lieutenant governor “dangerous.”

As for Trump, he is continuing to tease a 2024 presidential bid, telling supporters at a rally in Warren, Michigan, last weekend, “We’ll be talking about great things hopefully in the not-so-distant future.” He went on to say: “Oh I think you’re going to be happy. But first we have to win a historic victory for the Republican Party this November.”

That said, some members of Congress believe Democrats are going all-in to stop Trump from running. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is warning the Democrat-led committee investigating the incident at the U.S. Capitol last January is a “political operation” aimed at stopping Donald Trump from running for president in 2024.

“There’s been subpoenas issued to 11 individuals, 11 American citizens who asked the government permission on an application to hold the Trump rally,” Jordan said. “The government granted it and now the January 6 committee petitions them to ask them questions about exercising their First Amendment right to assemble.”

“And why would they subpoena me? I didn’t do anything wrong — I talked to the president,” Jordan said. “I talk to the president all the time. I just think that’s — you know where I’m at on this commission — this is all about going after President Trump. That seems obvious.”

“Everyone in the country sees this as a political operation. This is designed to get after President Trump. Because they don’t want him to run again,” he added.

On the other side, President Joe Biden has gotten another round of bad news. A new ABC News/Washington Post poll found that Biden’s approval ratings are plummeting and most Democrat voters said the party should replace Biden as its nominee for president in 2024.

“In the November midterm election ahead, registered voters divide 47%-46% between the Republican and the Democratic candidate in their House district, historically not enough to prevent typical first-midterm losses. And one likely voter model has a 51%-46% Republican-Democratic split,” ABC News reported.

“Looking two years off, just 35% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents favor Biden for the 2024 nomination; 56% want the party to pick someone else. Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, for their part, split 47%-46% on whether Donald Trump should be their 2024 nominee — a 20-point drop for Trump compared with his 2020 nomination,” the outlet added.

In a head-to-head rematch, the poll found a 48%-46% Biden-Trump contest, essentially tied. Among registered voters, the numbers reverse to 46%-48%. Only 39% of voters said they approved of Biden’s job performance while 53% disapprove.

On the economy, Biden’s approval rating is 36% while 57% disapprove — a 21-point deficit. The terrible polling for Biden is a bad sign for Democrats, who are trying to hold on to the Senate and House.

As the midterms approach, the nation’s top issue remains the economy and specifically inflation (30 percent), the poll found. Immigration (8 percent) and crime (8 percent) round out the top three most important issues for Americans.
