First lady Jill Biden was mocked mercilessly online over an awkward sign placement at an event at a high school in Utah that one social media user likened to a ‘VEEP episode.’

Jill Biden was ridiculed after she appeared at the local Utah school, which is named “Hunter High.”

“While visiting the Beehive State to attend a fundraiser for President Biden, the first lady stopped by the school in West Valley City, southwest of Salt Lake City, to visit faculty and hear the school choir perform. During her visit, Biden — a former teacher for over 30 years — spoke about the value of education and the importance of educators,” Fox News noted.

However, social media observers were preoccupied with the rather unfortunate positioning of “Hunter High” signs during her speech, which brought to mind her son Hunter Biden’s well-known battle with drug addiction.

“Jill Biden trying to distract from her comments about Hunter’s drug abuse, and ending up under a giant banner reading ‘Hunter High,’ is straight out of a VEEP episode,” wrote Angela Morabito, a spokeswoman for the Defense of Freedom Institute, in an X post.

“You can’t make this stuff up,” said Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz. “Jill Biden speaking at a school named ‘Hunter High.’ Appropriately named!”

Meanwhile, two committees in the GOP-led House agreed last week to re-issue subpoenas to first son Hunter Biden after both held him in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with two issued in mid-December.

ABC News reported that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer of Kentucky said Sunday they would issue new subpoenas after Biden’s attorney, Abby Lowell, agreed that his client would come in for closed-door testimony.

“The newly announced subpoenas follow the Republican-led House Judiciary and Oversight committees on Wednesday voting to approve resolutions recommending President Joe Biden’s son be held in contempt of Congress for defying a previous congressional subpoena,” ABC reported. “The contempt measure has now advanced to the full House where GOP leadership will bring it to the floor for a formal vote at a later date.”

Earlier, an Oversight Committee hearing exploded into chaos as Republicans and Democrats went at each other after Hunter Biden appeared in the gallery.

Comer began the hearing by outlining Republicans’ case to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress after he refused to honor a subpoena issued last month for closed-door testimony.

“Our investigation has produced significant evidence suggesting President Biden knew of, participated in, and benefited from his family cashing in on the Biden name,” Comer said.

“We planned to question Hunter Biden about this record of evidence during our deposition, but he blatantly defied two lawful subpoenas.”

According to Comer, Hunter Biden’s deliberate refusal to abide by the committees’ subpoenas “constitutes contempt of Congress and warrants referral to the appropriate United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution by the law.”

“We will not provide Hunter Biden with special treatment because of his last name,” Comer said. “All Americans must be treated equally under the law. And that includes the Bidens.”

But the hearing went off the rails when Rep. Nancy Mace (R-N.C.) was recognized to speak after spotting Hunter Biden in the gallery.

“My first question is, who bribed Hunter Biden to be here today? That’s my first question,” Mace began. “Second question, you are the epitome of white privilege coming into the oversight committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed. What are you afraid of? You have no balls to come up here.”

“I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now. Go straight to jail,” Mace continued. “Our nation is founded on the rule of law. The law applies equally to everyone, no matter what your last name.”

She added: “It does not matter who you are, where you come from, or who your father is, or your last name. Yes, I’m looking at you, Hunter Biden, as I’m speaking to you. You are not above the law at all.”
