A co-host of ABC’s “The View” has made another controversial statement in the wake of a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs nightclub for gays and lesbians. As the show’s panel members discussed the Saturday night murders, which left five people dead and more than 20 wounded, Sunny Hostin made a head-turning claim about Jesus.
“That’s why I’m so sad. I don’t know that they hide behind religion because I said this on this show once before: Jesus would be the grand martial at the pride parade,” she claimed.
Later, co-host Whoopi Goldberg added: “If they scare you so much, leave them alone. When stuff scares me, I leave it alone. If I don’t want to be bothered, I don’t go there. See? That’s the problem. You don’t want to just have your feelings. You want everybody else to join you, and you know what? You can – you can scream, you can cuss, you can do all the things that you say, but you know what? Gay people are here.
“They’re not going anywhere. There is nothing else you can do, you know. You can yell and scream, but you know, as the lord as everybody was talking about, you know, made in God’s image,” she added before cutting to a commercial break.
It should be noted that police in Colorado Springs do not yet have a motive for the attack.
“Lt. Pamela Castro of the Colorado Springs Police Department said the shooting was at Club Q, a gay and lesbian nightclub. It features a ‘Drag Diva Drag Show’ on Saturdays, according to its website,” the Associated Press noted in a weekend tweet to a story about the shooting.

The report noted:
The suspect in the Saturday night shooting at Club Q used an AR-15-style semiautomatic weapon, a law enforcement official said. A handgun and additional ammunition magazines also were recovered, according to the official, who could not discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Police identified the alleged gunman as Anderson Lee Aldrich, who was in custody and being treated for injuries.
The daytime talk show’s co-hosts were triggered last week after former President Donald Trump announced he would again seek the GOP nomination in 2024.
The co-hosts were furious at the fact that the former president made his announcement on Tuesday at Mar-a-Lago. Co-host Joy Behar mocked how the tone of the announcement was not as intense as his rallies and said he “looked like he was about to fall asleep,” comparing him to a “defeated Mussolini.”
“It was so sad. My heart breaks for poor Donald…Not!” she said.
Anna Navarro warned that the former president had to be taken seriously and that he had to be defeated again to which Behar shouted “Yeah! Yeah!”
“We beat [Trump] once. We can beat him twice if we have to,” she said. “Under no circumstance can Americans get exhausted and not fight hard as hell so this guy is nowhere near the presidency ever, ever, ever again.”

Hostin also commented, saying, like much of the mainstream media, he’s a “twice impeached, disgraced, almost indicted former president” she went on to speculate what it would be like if he were actually indicted by a special counsel appointed last week.
Former President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday night that he will be running for president in 2024. The 45th president also filed his paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, ending months of rumors and speculation that he would make a third run for the White House.
“My fellow citizens, America’s comeback starts right now. In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump told a cheering crowd at Mar-a-Lago, adding that he would “fight as no one has ever fought before.”
“Our country could not take four more years,” he said. “They can only take so much. I am running because I believe the world has not yet seen the true glory of what this nation can be. We have not reached that pinnacle, believe it or not.”
