Things got heated on ABC’s “The View” on Monday when co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin hit back at colleague Ana Navarro for interrupting her several times. During a tense exchange on the daytime talk show, the table began discussing “toxic femininity” and claimed that it is hurting women.
Griffin said: “I think it is real though. We’ve come a long way in kind of critiquing some of the male practices that are not helpful and that needed to be called out. And I think that women have made a ton of progress, but we can also be each other’s worst enemies. It’s still the case, and I hate to say it. Some of the worst bosses I’ve had have been women, and sometimes colleagues in the workplace who are women. And I always think of the Madeleine Albright quote…”
“That’s what happens when you work with Kellyanne Conway,” interjected Navarro — referring to the Senior Counselor to the President during the Trump administration, where Griffin served in numerous roles including as White House Communications Director.
Griffin fired back at Navarro — arguing that her co-host’s interruption proved the very point she was trying to make.
“I mean, well, I really can’t get a word in without you attacking me so I wouldn’t say this is a totally different — this isn’t like a totally different environment of women supporting each other,” she said. “But Madeleine Albright always said ‘there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help and support other women. That’s something I try to live by. I think that we have a duty to kind of give that back especially for the women who come after us.”
The quote – “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other” – from the late Albright, who was the first female Secretary of State, serving under former President Bill Clinton, came during a rally in 2016 for then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in which Albright ostracized women who won’t vote for Clinton. She later clarified her remark.

A co-host of ABC’s “The View” made another controversial statement last month in the wake of a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs nightclub. Co-host Sunny Hostin made a head-turning claim about Jesus during the off-the-rails segment.
“That’s why I’m so sad. I don’t know that they hide behind religion because I said this on this show once before: Jesus would be the grand martial at the pride parade,” she claimed.
Later, co-host Whoopi Goldberg added: “If they scare you so much, leave them alone. When stuff scares me, I leave it alone. If I don’t want to be bothered, I don’t go there. See? That’s the problem. You don’t want to just have your feelings. You want everybody else to join you, and you know what? You can – you can scream, you can cuss, you can do all the things that you say, but you know what? Gay people are here.
“They’re not going anywhere. There is nothing else you can do, you know. You can yell and scream, but you know, as the lord as everybody was talking about, you know, made in God’s image,” she added before cutting to a commercial break.
The daytime talk show’s co-hosts were triggered prior to that after former President Donald Trump announced he would again seek the GOP nomination in 2024.
The co-hosts were furious at the fact that the former president made his announcement on Tuesday at Mar-a-Lago. Co-host Joy Behar mocked how the tone of the announcement was not as intense as his rallies and said he “looked like he was about to fall asleep,” comparing him to a “defeated Mussolini.”
“It was so sad. My heart breaks for poor Donald…Not!” she said.
Anna Navarro warned that the former president had to be taken seriously and that he had to be defeated again to which Behar shouted “Yeah! Yeah!”
“We beat [Trump] once. We can beat him twice if we have to,” she said. “Under no circumstance can Americans get exhausted and not fight hard as hell so this guy is nowhere near the presidency ever, ever, ever again.”

Hostin also commented, saying, like much of the mainstream media, he’s a “twice impeached, disgraced, almost indicted former president” she went on to speculate what it would be like if he were actually indicted by a special counsel appointed last week.
Former President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday night that he will be running for president in 2024. The 45th president also filed his paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, ending months of rumors and speculation that he would make a third run for the White House.
“My fellow citizens, America’s comeback starts right now. In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump told a cheering crowd at Mar-a-Lago, adding that he would “fight as no one has ever fought before.”
“Our country could not take four more years,” he said. “They can only take so much. I am running because I believe the world has not yet seen the true glory of what this nation can be. We have not reached that pinnacle, believe it or not.”
