FOX Tops November Ratings; ‘The Five’ And ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ Dominate

The wins keep stacking up for Fox News and one of the network’s most popular hosts.

While Fox News did better than any other cable news network in November, the network’s ratings were lower than they had been in November 2022, when news about the midterm elections was front and center, Deadline reported.

Fox News’ primetime audience dropped 29% from November 2022 to 1.73 million. On average, MSNBC had 1.136 million viewers, a 5% decline, while CNN had 540,000, a 28% decline. When looking at the 25-54 demographic, Fox News had a 44% decline, CNN a 36% drop, and MSNBC a 26% drop, with an average audience of 199,000.

Overall, the day’s viewership for Fox News was 1.18 million, a 25% decline, while MSNBC had 778,000, a 3% increase, and CNN had 474,000, a 15% decline. Fox News averaged 143,000 viewers, a 37% decline, while CNN’s total fell 13% to 93,000 and MSNBC’s total fell 13% to 81,000.

It was also a great month for host Jesse Watters in particular, who is a co-host on “The Five” and hosts a primetime show on the network.

With an average of 2.87 million viewers, “The Five” topped the cable weekday news program rankings. “Jesse Watters Primetime” came in second with 2.57 million, Hannity came in third with 2.26 million, “Special Report” had 2.18 million, and “The Ingraham Angle” had 2.15 million.

With an average of 277,000 viewers aged 25–54, “Gutfeld!” was the most popular show. “Jesse Watters Primetime” came in second with 273,000, “The Five” came in third with 270,000, Hannity had 260,000, and “The Ingraham Angle” had 221,000.

As a pair, Rachel Maddow and Alex Wagner averaged 1.57 million viewers overall and 158,000 in the 25-54 demographic during MSNBC’s Monday-Friday slot. However, Maddow surpassed Hannity and “CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins” in total viewers, with an average of 2.4 million in her Monday slot.

“Deadline: White House” averaged 1.61 million viewers on weekdays, and “The Beat with Ari Melber” had 166,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo, making it MSNBC’s top show overall.

“Anderson Cooper 360” averaged 151,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic, while “Erin Burnett Outfront” averaged 741,000 viewers overall on CNN during the week.

Fox News boasted about the network’s victories in November in a press release.

“FNC continued to excel against the competition on weekends throughout the month, outpacing CNN and MSNBC yet again across the total day and primetime with viewers and winning every hour in total viewers. Life, Liberty & Levin (Saturday, 8 PM/ET) was the most-watched of the day with 1.2 million viewers and 103,000 with A25-54. Following, Cavuto Live (Saturday, 10 AM – 12 PM/ET) was the second most-watched cable news program on Saturday in total viewers, also netting nearly 1.2 million viewers and 146,000 in the 25-54 demo,” the network stated in the release.

“Brian Kilmeade’s One Nation attracted 949,000 viewers and 93,000 in the 25-54 demo. FNC’s signature FOX & Friends Weekend led the morning shows, scoring 1.1 million viewers and 128,000 in the 25-54 demo for its Saturday airings. Additionally, FOX Report with Jon Scott (weekends, 6 PM/ET) averaged 1 million viewers and 80,000 with A25-54, while The Big Weekend Show drew 1.1 million viewers and 97,000 with A25-54. FOX News Live garnered over 835,000 viewers and 93,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo,” it added.

The press release continued, “On Sundays, Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures at 10 AM/ET ranked first overall with viewers averaging 1.4 million and 123,000 with A25-54. At 11 AM/ET, Howard Kurtz’s MediaBuzz attracted 1.1 million viewers, including 104,000 in the 25-54 demographic. Meanwhile, FNC’s Life, Liberty, and Levin earned the second top-rated spot in total viewers for Sunday, with nearly 1.4 million viewers and 116,000 A25-54. FNC’s Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy delivered an audience of 1.1 million viewers and 97,000 A25-54. Additionally, The Big Weekend Show scored over 1 million total viewers and 91,000 in the 25-54 demo, while FOX & Friends Weekend notched 1.1 million viewers and ranked first in the younger demo with 133,000 viewers in 25-54.”
